Projects:
Create a 3D model assembly using solidworks – Computer Aided Drawing
A brief wasgiven todesignapiece of equipmentorfurniture andcreate a3D model assembly. The assemblyhadtohave
at least4 parts. I builtasolidworksworkingdrawingforan Adirondackchair. Thishelpedreinforce the knowledge gained
through lectures and tutorials on solidworks.
Fitting exercises - Manufacturing Technology 1 & 2
In ManufacturingTechnology1a fittingexercisewasgiventobe produced onthe lathe where one piece hadtofittightly
into the other which means understanding and working within tolerances.
InManufacturingTechnology2amore complicatedfittingprojectwasrequiredtobe completed whichhad5pieceswhen
completed properly it acted as a lock mechanism. This project consisted of accurate marking out, use of bench tools,
millinganddrilling.Thisgave a goodunderstandingof a manufacturingprocessthatequipmentmaygo through,alsoan
understanding of how some important machines in precision engineering are produced.
