2. The general public in which we live
decides everything from the food we eat to
the decisions we make. The word society
comes from the latin root socius,
signifying "buddy" or "being with others." A
general public comprises of individuals
who share a region, who communicate with
one another, and who share a culture. A
few social orders are, indeed, gatherings of
individuals joined by fellowship or normal
interests. Our particular social orders show
us how to act, what to accept.
4. SOCIETY is ABSTRACT:
we may see the people but cannot
see society or social structure, but
only its only external aspects”.
Social relationships are invisible
and abstract. We can just realize
them but cannot see or touch them.
Therefore, society is abstract.
5. LIKENESS AND DIFFERENCE IN
SOCIETY:
Society involves both likeness
and difference. If people are all
exactly alike, merely alike, their
relationships would be limited.
There would be little give-and-
take and little reciprocity.
6. COOPERATION & CONFLICT IN
SOCIETY:
Different groups of people often come
into conflict when a problem cannot
be solved, when values clash, or when
there is ambiguity over ownership of
land and resources. Diplomacy, the art
of maintaining peaceful relationships
without the use of violence, can help
turn conflict into cooperation.
7. SOCIETY IS A SYSTEM OF STRATIFICATION:
Social stratification refers to a
society's categorization of its
people into rankings based on
factors like wealth, income,
education, family background, and
power.
8. Concept of Politics
Politics is about making agreements
between people so that they can live
together in groups such as tribes, cities,
or countries. In large groups, such as
countries, some people may spend a lot
of their time making such agreements.
These people are called politicians.
10. use or threat of use of legal forces
it allows the legal authority
to use force.
11. Interaction
“Political system is that system of
interactions to be found in all
independent societies which perform
the functions of integration and
adaptation.
12. Interdependence of Parts
when the properties of one component in a
system change, all the other components
and the system as a whole are affected. In
political system the political parties having
a wider base and mass media (Television,
radio and newspapers) change the
performance of all other structures of the
system and affect the general working of
the system.
