2. Introduction to Analytical Writing
The Analytical Writing section of the GRE® General
Test is 1 hour long, with two writing prompts.
◦ You are given 30 minutes apiece for each of two
writing prompts, which will be completed on the
computer. (The entire GRE® is computer based.)
◦ You are scored 0-6 on your ability to reason and use
critical thinking skills, write in an organized fashion,
use proper grammar, spelling, and punctuation.

3. Writing Strategies
Today you will not only get your first, real
practice with writing for the GRE® General
Test, you will also learn about several
different writing strategies that you can use
today to ensure that you score your best on
