Farha had the role of being our artist. As a performer
her job was to learn the lyrics, maintain her role while
filming and carry on singing even with distractions
from the public.
She had to think carefully about her outfits, hair and
makeup and ensured that she dressed exactly the
same when filming in the same location.
The artist is the person who the public will focus on
and is the one who is trying to sell her music. As she
is a new artist we had to film a lot of close ups as a
way of introducing her. She had to stay focus on her
performance as any little imperfection will be caught
on camera.

Umar was the mystery man in our video. The idea
behind his character is to create a sense of mystery
and suspense as to what he was searching for and if
he would every find it.
I believe that this would intrigue the audience to
watch the music video because they would want to
know what happens and what is his relationship with
the artist.
As Umar’s shots are suppose to look like a journey
through out the day, he had to make sure he wore
the exact same clothes every time we went out to
film. Even when we didn’t plan to shoot any of his
scenes he wore the clothes just in case we found a
location that we wanted to use in our video.

Farha and Umar took charge of setting up the
lighting. They worked together to position the light at
the right height and angle so that Farha is seen
clearly on camera
Shrepsa was in charge of the speakers to place it
close enough to the camera but also to our performer
so that she could sing along and so we could hear it
when editing.
I took on the role of being the camera person. Before
filming I had to focus the camera and position it at
the right angle so that there was no space above
Farha’s head. I also had to make sure that the camera
was stable so that the shots didn’t look shaky but at
the same time I had to move around the artist so that
it wasn’t to static.

Shrepsa was the director of the group who’s
job was to make sure that everyone stayed
force and that Farha was prepared to
perform.
While filming a base track she would instruct
Farha on what she should do to make it look
like a natural performance rather than her
just standing there singing.

We all watched our footage together to agree
on what we wanted to include and what we
should reshoot
I took on the role of the main editor and had
the help of my group for opinions of what
should be adjusted or replaced.
I had to make sure that the performance was
in synch with the music and when cutting the
song I had help from Shrepsa to ensure that
the song was continuous and didn’t sound
like it had been cut.
