Section I
Introduction to EC 660
The development of the ReNew®
series of products for commercial,
institutional and industrial operations resulted in a broad spectrum of concentrated
and specifically targeted formulations.
Given the success of the original products, there was identified a need across
a large number of business operations for a more general purpose cleaner which
utilized the highly successful enzyme/surfactant technology of previous products.
Efforts focused on a cost-effective product which would have significant
benefits over previous products for health care, food processing and heavy
industrial operations. Areas of interest across the board were:
• Low cost per square foot cleaned
• Verify product claims on actual customer surfaces
• Safety of product from applications to disposal
• Evaluate benefits such as lower surface bacterial counts after
cleaning and reduced potential for slips and falls
The result of these efforts was the formulation of All Surface Cleaner EC 660.
The following information is intended to briefly illustrate the ability of EC
660 to deliver real value on a corporate level scale, regardless of any specific
circumstances.

Facility Maintenance Program for
Industrial Cleaning Operations
Purpose: To achieve a level of facility cleanliness which enhances the production
process, provides physical and product safety, motivate maintenance personnel
and results in a high level of environmental performance.
Goals: 1. Reduce the overall cost of maintaining the facility.
2. Improve appearance and safety in critical areas such as high traffic areas.
3. Reduce physical threats due to use of inadequate and or/hazardous products.
4. Improve control of environmental issues such as indoor air quality and waste
water discharges.
Plan: Develop a comprehensive and easily understood program utilizing ReNew®
products which address the full range of cleaning and safety issues.
Procedure: Example of detailed Standard Operating Procedure’s developed on the job by
NuSystems LLC in co-ordination with Major Industrial Customers.
I. Machine Operations
A. Rotary Scrubbers
1. Apply EC 660 solution to surface either by wash-down of above floor
equipment, spray application, mop/pail or through scrubber solution tank.
2. Scrub as usual, this should allow sufficient time for the active enzymes to
breakdown and loosen embedded soils.
3. Surface can be squeezed down floor drain (which helps open up and deodorize
drains) vacuumed up, or mopped, then rinse thoroughly and allow to dry.
B. Auto Scrubbers
1. Place EC 660 solution in product tank (1 part product to 128 parts warm
water).
2. On heavily soiled or greasy surfaces, apply product with scrubbing then make
a second vacuum pass. For normal maintenance a one-pass operation results in
excellent cleaning.
3. Allow surface to dry before returning to service.
4. Surface is now deep-cleaned and can be polished/burnished to achieve an even
higher level of appearance.

Enzyme Technology
The use of enzymes in cleaning products has, in the past, resulted in some products that
were poor performers. Improper formulation techniques and enzymes which were not carefully
chosen, give products which are “enzyme” in name only. Whether through the use of chemical
additive, or bacterial presence, a few of the products were inappropriate for use in many
applications.
Formulation of ReNew®
Enzyme Technology products is accomplished with carefully
selected surfactants and wetting agents and uniquely crafted enzyme packages – all designed to
produce products with maximum safety and effectiveness, in a wide variety of applications.
The enzyme systems in ReNew®
products are received from suppliers with certificates of
testing for enzyme activity, microbiological safety (coliforms, salmonella, production strain
organism, etc.) and other assays such as heavy metals.

Section IV
Disinfection vs. Cleaning
Illustrating the Deep Cleaning Properties of EC 660
I. Following a number of illness outbreaks and other safety issues related to cleaning, a new
product concept was developed. After conversations with USDA (who had abandoned their
product approval program) the new approach consisted of:
A. Formulation of an enzyme based cleaning product using naturally derived surfactants and an
additive package to protect the activity of the enzyme package.
B. Document for customers the deep cleaning aspect of the program by comparing bacterial
counts on the enzyme product cleaned surfaces vs surfaces cleaned by conventional
products with a terminal disinfection step.
II. Cleaning protocols were developed under various umbrella standards such as GMP, HAACP
and ASTM using the enzyme technology as a basis. Trials were run on both floors and process
equipment in operations ranging from dairy (cream tanks), hospitals (food prep floors and
patient areas), educational institutions (floor, restrooms), to heavy manufacturing. In each case
testing was done to thoroughly document the safety of each surface for protection of product and
personnel. The conclusion in these and many other applications was that the superior cleaning
produced by EC 660 yielded a much less contaminated surface than conventional cleaners even
when followed by heavy disinfection steps. If the food source is still in the pores of the surface,
bacterial regrowth is rapid. Furthermore, when historical experience required a terminal
disinfection step, the product used and the rate of application was much less damaging to the
surfaces, less hazardous to personnel, and reduced downstream environmental impact.
III. The development of new technology carries with it the responsibility to examine all the possible
impacts of its use:
A. When used on floor surfaces this technology significantly reduced the incidents of slips and
falls in a wide variety of operations.
B. Using FDA protocols this technology was approved for use in processes where it could be
incorporated in food packaging.
C. Discharge of spent cleaning solutions of this technology were documented to result in
significant improvements in biological and chemical wastewater treatment systems, and in
fact the products based on this technology are currently used as direct additives to enhance
wastewater treatment processes.

Section V
The Value of Spent EC 660 Cleaning Solutions
and the Ultimate Fate of the Product.
All Surface Cleaner EC 660 contains no bacteria, solvents, phosphates, chlorine, acids,
caustics or heavy metals. As long as the enzymes remain active, they continue to function in
breaking down wastes, greases, odor causing organics and promoting the separation of oils. At
some point in the biological treatment process, the enzymes, like other proteinaceous material,
are consumed by micro-organisms and become part of the biomass. There are no toxic residues
or by-products to contaminate bio-solids or effluent discharges.

Section VI
Summary
NuSystems LLC has developed an approach to Commercial, Industrial and Institutional
surface cleaning centered around All Surface Cleaner EC 660. This approach utilizes Total
Cost Analysis (TCA) to document for all stakeholders, whether environmental, manufacturing
or maintenance personnel, the fact that EC 660 represents the lowest cost for surface cleaning.
While lower cost per gallon products may appear cheaper, EC 660 has consistently proven to
be the most economical product when all cleaning, safety and environmental factors are taken
into account.

  • 3. ©2017 NuSystems, LLC., USA, All Rights Reserved Section I Introduction to EC 660 The development of the ReNew® series of products for commercial, institutional and industrial operations resulted in a broad spectrum of concentrated and specifically targeted formulations. Given the success of the original products, there was identified a need across a large number of business operations for a more general purpose cleaner which utilized the highly successful enzyme/surfactant technology of previous products. Efforts focused on a cost-effective product which would have significant benefits over previous products for health care, food processing and heavy industrial operations. Areas of interest across the board were: • Low cost per square foot cleaned • Verify product claims on actual customer surfaces • Safety of product from applications to disposal • Evaluate benefits such as lower surface bacterial counts after cleaning and reduced potential for slips and falls The result of these efforts was the formulation of All Surface Cleaner EC 660. The following information is intended to briefly illustrate the ability of EC 660 to deliver real value on a corporate level scale, regardless of any specific circumstances.
  • 4. ©2017 NuSystems, LLC., USA, All Rights Reserved Section II NuSystems LLC Facility Maintenance Program for Industrial Cleaning Operations Purpose: To achieve a level of facility cleanliness which enhances the production process, provides physical and product safety, motivate maintenance personnel and results in a high level of environmental performance. Goals: 1. Reduce the overall cost of maintaining the facility. 2. Improve appearance and safety in critical areas such as high traffic areas. 3. Reduce physical threats due to use of inadequate and or/hazardous products. 4. Improve control of environmental issues such as indoor air quality and waste water discharges. Plan: Develop a comprehensive and easily understood program utilizing ReNew® products which address the full range of cleaning and safety issues. Procedure: Example of detailed Standard Operating Procedure’s developed on the job by NuSystems LLC in co-ordination with Major Industrial Customers. I. Machine Operations A. Rotary Scrubbers 1. Apply EC 660 solution to surface either by wash-down of above floor equipment, spray application, mop/pail or through scrubber solution tank. 2. Scrub as usual, this should allow sufficient time for the active enzymes to breakdown and loosen embedded soils. 3. Surface can be squeezed down floor drain (which helps open up and deodorize drains) vacuumed up, or mopped, then rinse thoroughly and allow to dry. B. Auto Scrubbers 1. Place EC 660 solution in product tank (1 part product to 128 parts warm water). 2. On heavily soiled or greasy surfaces, apply product with scrubbing then make a second vacuum pass. For normal maintenance a one-pass operation results in excellent cleaning. 3. Allow surface to dry before returning to service. 4. Surface is now deep-cleaned and can be polished/burnished to achieve an even higher level of appearance.
  • 5. ©2017 NuSystems, LLC., USA, All Rights Reserved Section III ReNew® Enzyme Technology The use of enzymes in cleaning products has, in the past, resulted in some products that were poor performers. Improper formulation techniques and enzymes which were not carefully chosen, give products which are “enzyme” in name only. Whether through the use of chemical additive, or bacterial presence, a few of the products were inappropriate for use in many applications. Formulation of ReNew® Enzyme Technology products is accomplished with carefully selected surfactants and wetting agents and uniquely crafted enzyme packages – all designed to produce products with maximum safety and effectiveness, in a wide variety of applications. The enzyme systems in ReNew® products are received from suppliers with certificates of testing for enzyme activity, microbiological safety (coliforms, salmonella, production strain organism, etc.) and other assays such as heavy metals.
  • 6. ©2017 NuSystems, LLC., USA, All Rights Reserved Section IV Disinfection vs. Cleaning Illustrating the Deep Cleaning Properties of EC 660 I. Following a number of illness outbreaks and other safety issues related to cleaning, a new product concept was developed. After conversations with USDA (who had abandoned their product approval program) the new approach consisted of: A. Formulation of an enzyme based cleaning product using naturally derived surfactants and an additive package to protect the activity of the enzyme package. B. Document for customers the deep cleaning aspect of the program by comparing bacterial counts on the enzyme product cleaned surfaces vs surfaces cleaned by conventional products with a terminal disinfection step. II. Cleaning protocols were developed under various umbrella standards such as GMP, HAACP and ASTM using the enzyme technology as a basis. Trials were run on both floors and process equipment in operations ranging from dairy (cream tanks), hospitals (food prep floors and patient areas), educational institutions (floor, restrooms), to heavy manufacturing. In each case testing was done to thoroughly document the safety of each surface for protection of product and personnel. The conclusion in these and many other applications was that the superior cleaning produced by EC 660 yielded a much less contaminated surface than conventional cleaners even when followed by heavy disinfection steps. If the food source is still in the pores of the surface, bacterial regrowth is rapid. Furthermore, when historical experience required a terminal disinfection step, the product used and the rate of application was much less damaging to the surfaces, less hazardous to personnel, and reduced downstream environmental impact. III. The development of new technology carries with it the responsibility to examine all the possible impacts of its use: A. When used on floor surfaces this technology significantly reduced the incidents of slips and falls in a wide variety of operations. B. Using FDA protocols this technology was approved for use in processes where it could be incorporated in food packaging. C. Discharge of spent cleaning solutions of this technology were documented to result in significant improvements in biological and chemical wastewater treatment systems, and in fact the products based on this technology are currently used as direct additives to enhance wastewater treatment processes.
  • 7. ©2017 NuSystems, LLC., USA, All Rights Reserved Section V The Value of Spent EC 660 Cleaning Solutions and the Ultimate Fate of the Product. All Surface Cleaner EC 660 contains no bacteria, solvents, phosphates, chlorine, acids, caustics or heavy metals. As long as the enzymes remain active, they continue to function in breaking down wastes, greases, odor causing organics and promoting the separation of oils. At some point in the biological treatment process, the enzymes, like other proteinaceous material, are consumed by micro-organisms and become part of the biomass. There are no toxic residues or by-products to contaminate bio-solids or effluent discharges.
  • 8. ©2017 NuSystems, LLC., USA, All Rights Reserved Section VI Summary NuSystems LLC has developed an approach to Commercial, Industrial and Institutional surface cleaning centered around All Surface Cleaner EC 660. This approach utilizes Total Cost Analysis (TCA) to document for all stakeholders, whether environmental, manufacturing or maintenance personnel, the fact that EC 660 represents the lowest cost for surface cleaning. While lower cost per gallon products may appear cheaper, EC 660 has consistently proven to be the most economical product when all cleaning, safety and environmental factors are taken into account.
