♦ Designed novel waterborne alkyd technology and assisted customer’s finished coating
formulation. Developed to meet regulatory VOC limit, the advantage of this technology was
the ability of Zero VOC in the alkyd with novel surfactant technology.

Charged with the day to day operation of pilot reaction vessels and production scale-up data
acquisition. Equipment included steam heated and oil heated reaction vessels, pressure reaction
vessel capable of 300 psi, thin film evaporators, inline emulsification equipment and spray-drying
equipment. Detailed accounts of reaction parameters and process control limits were essential.
Equipment modification and set-up were necessary. Assisted in production formulation review,
including Process Hazard Analysis and process limits for quality reproducible production.
♦ Assisted in the scale-up data and production development of hundreds of different polymers
and monomers.
♦ Served as member of Environmental Steering Committee and Responsible Care Initiative.
