BENEFITS OF
FRUIT AND
VEGETABLES

On 7th April the annual Day of health
was organised by our Science
teachers. Because there was a one
week lock down at the time, we got a
variety of activities and tasks to do on
our own.
Pupils from class 7 searched for
information about benefits of fruit and
vegetable and create a fact file cards.
ONION
Onions have got a lot of
vitamin C. Raw onion
keep your heart healthy.
They reduce risk of
cancer, lower blood sugar
levels and improve bone
health.
CARROT
Carrots are healthy because
they support healthy eyes.
They are a good source of
antioxidants and vitamin E. If
you eat a lot of carrots you
have got healthy teeth and
gums, skin and hair.
RED PEPPER
Red peppers have got a
lot of vitamin C. Red
peppers are rich in
antioxidants. They are
very good for you heart
heart and they protect
you from cancer.
POTATO
Potatoes are rich in
vitamins, minerals and
antioxidants, which make
them very healthy.
Potatoes are good for your
stomach and blood.
Potatoes are full of fibre
and iron.
CAULIFLOWER
Cauliflowers have got a lot
of vitamins and minerals.
Cauliflowers are a great
source of antioxidants,
which protect your cells.
Children should eat a lot of
these vegetable because
they keep you healthy.
PUMPKIN
Pumpkins have got a lot of
fiber and vitamin C. They have
got a lot of vitamin E and A.
Pumpkins are good for our
eyes and they help speed
weight loss. They are tasty and
full of iron and other minerals.
CORN
Corn has got a lot of
vitamins B, which are
important for our general
health. One of the best
health benefits of corn is to
prevent cancer. Corn is also
good for pregnant women
and small children.
PARSLEY
Parsley is good for bones,
kidneys and heart. Parsley is
good for people with bad
breath. Nobody likes to have
a conversation with a person
who has bad breath. Parsley
is also good for diabetics.
Peaches are also good for diabetics
BEANS
Beans regulate blood
sugar. Beans are also
good for diabetics. They
also keep our heart and
kidneys healthy. They
can lower your risk of
cancer.
RADISH
Radishes are very good
for the liver and
stomach. They help
prevent cancer and they
boost immunity an
energy. They have got a
lot of vitamin C.
CHERRY
Cherries are very helpful in
cleaning blood and
working against bone
problems. They contain
vitamin C, folat, iron,
calcium and potassium.
APRICOT
Apricots have many
antioxidants, so they protect
against diabetes and heart
disease.
Vitamins A, E are good for eye
health.
Vitamins C, E help your skin.
Fibre helps your digestion.
PLUMS
Plums help with digestion,
protect the heart, protect
against cancer, reduce the
risk of diabetes and help
with weight loss.
It contains a lot of calcium
that helps and protects
certain organs.
PEAR
Provitamin A helps heal
wounds.
Coppers improves immunity
and Potassium helps the heart.
It your pear with its skin on
beacuse it is good for your
digestion.
STRAWBERRY
Strawberries help reduce blood
pressure, also prevents intestinal
cancer.
Strawberries have a lot of vitamin C, if
you eat 150 g of fresh berries, this is
enough vitamin C for one day. Vitamin
C is very important in the absorption of
iron into the blood.
BLUEBERRY
Blueberries have a lot of vitamin C
and A and fiber. They prevent
bladder inflammation, reduce the
chance of heart disease and
reduce wrinkles. They help with
diarrhea.
GRAPES
They have a lot of vitamins C and K, B1,
B2, B6 and potassium and copper
minerals.
They helps with weight loss, protect the
heart, blood and the brain. They
improve brain performance, protect
against skin cancer, reduce the risk of
diabetes, prolong life.
APPLE
Apples have a lot of fiber and water
so they help you loose kilos.
Antioxidants in the peel lower blood
pressure, prevent bowel, prostate
and lung cancer. They are good for
your bones.
PEACH
It keeps your immune system
strong and protect against
cancer. It helps your eyes,
digestion.
They contain a lot of vitamin
C, vitamin A, potassium and
iron.
BLACKBERRY
Great for the anemi. They
help with the inflammation
of the throat and the colds.
It helps because it contains
a lot of vitamin C.
