WORK EXPERIENCE:
Baylor College of Medicine- Research III Coordinator/Data Manager 2008- PRESENT
Provide services for patients with breast cancer such as consenting patients for tissue acquisition,
Managing an observational data registry for patients’ evaluation, Identifying factors which affect a
person’s risk for getting cancer and enrolling patients that qualify, that are willing to be part of cancer
genetic research studies. Provide pedigrees and risk assessment through Boadicea programming,
information for patients’ studies and communicate with patients’ with Genetic Counselor and Physicians
to determine the best clinical trial/study recommended for patient. Work with a Genetic Counselor and
other Research Coordinators, to insure proper progression of study protocol and guidelines. Submit
research data to appropriate database and laboratories for analysis. Responsible for setting up Genetics
board meetings, presentations of patients’ results and receiving feedback for recommendations from
Physicians. Also, responsible for consenting patients before or after surgical procedure for Breast and
Ovarian Cancer Research Studies, Delivery of Liquid Nitrogen as needed, to Pathologist for specified
patients who agree to participate, along with preparing slides and information for Pathologist to read
and record accurate percentage of diagnosis for all patients for tumor banking. Abstracting data
pertaining to each individual patient on study of progress and other job related duties as assigned.
MD Anderson Cancer Center- Patient Service Coordinator: 2006- 2008
Provide services for numerous patients such as scheduling visits, diagnostic tests, procedures,
treatments, and maintaining physicians and clinic templates, Processing accurate same-day completion
of all charge capture activities, assists in identification and authorization of managed care patients and
any other tasks as delegated by the Clinical Business Manager. Communicate appointment information
to patients as well as any information regarding their schedule, and the preparations needed for
ancillary appointments. Received multiple telephone calls during shift and provides record information
as appropriate as well as being responsible for the security and confidentiality of patient information at
all times. Handles and processes a complex and varied set of documents and situations daily, Updates all
demographic, financial and insurance information to maintain accurate patient account. Also obtain
copay from patients if required. Assist in maintaining a safe environment for patients, visitors and co-
workers daily.
MENTAL HEALTH MENTAL RETARDATION AGENCY OF HARRIS COUNTY - Community Service Specialist:
2001-2006
Provide psychiatric services such as consumer evaluations, documentation of program progress,
performed intakes of new consumers and prepared charts along with heavy filing and data entry,
observe self-administration of medications, laboratory and coordination services such as facilitating
consumer referrals for MHMRA Harris County to various locations for consumer's health, needs and
growth in the community along with Medicaid billing. Monitor consumer's vital signs, provide direct care
and rehabilitation services to adults who suffer from schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, major depression
and schizophrenia affective disorder. Provide services to substance abusers with diagnosis of severe and
persistent mental illness and support to family members.
Houston Independent School District - Educational Assistant II:
1995-2001
Trained and instructed students with autism in fine motor skills, basic life learning, pre-employment
training, and job readiness and socialization skills. Transport students to public outings in company
vehicle. Maintain accurate documentation of student behaviors and progress on goals and objectives.
Provided student progress reports to parents as well as self-administration of medication and provided
direct care services as needed.
DILLARD'S DEPARTMENT STORE- Sales Associate: 1994-1995
Provide goods and services to customers. Developed strong interpersonal skills with internal and
external customers, exceeded sales goals. Supervised and trained new sales associates. Handle large
sums of currency throughout shift, along with accurate handling of register balancing. Participated in
