Evalutation question 3
1.
2. We started off our audience feedback by preparing some questionnaire forms
for our fellow class mates, families and our school peers to have a look at the
products we produced, i.e. magazine cover, teaser poster and teaser trailer.
With this, we created three separate surveys on survey monkey, which we sent
round the links via e-mail for people to fill out. We decided that if we had three
separate surveys for all of our products we can work on any changes or
suggestions for each of them separately. Where we had many different
options to chose from for the teaser poster and magazine cover, we were left
undecided, so we managed to have them all set up for people to give their
honest opinions about what ones would be best for our campaign.
6. Each of us in the group all designed a
magazine cover, in which we all had the
choice to chose one to be part of our
campaign. In order for us to know what one
we would like to choose, we asked around,
using our surveys and other technology
devices to get different opinions. We took
into consideration the different ideas and
suggestions people had, and decided to
go with the Empire magazine cover, which
we and many others thought suited our
trailer very well. Although, each of us
dedicated our magazine covers to different
Empire and Sight and Sound covers,
therefore when making the final decision it
was quite tough because each of us fitted
the conventions of a magazine cover very
well, but due to the feedback it was clear
on what one to use.

We decided to ask around about the magazine cover
in different ways, i.e. WhatsApp, because it was an
easy way to get hold of our friends and ask for their
opinions. This was really helpful because it added to
our ideas of what magazine cover to chose from, and
with the feedback coming from different areas it
made our decisions a lot easier. By telling us it meets
our audience means we stuck to what we needed to
and it was successful. Also, the link above is one of the
survey responses for our magazine cover, after we
had chosen it, and it is all good feedback, i.e. saying
they would purchase it and it meets all magazine
cover conventions etc. This had an impact on the rest
of our campaign because know we know some
people are already starting to like it, and therefore
their feedback will have a good impact on us.
8. With our teaser poster ideas, we again all sketched
one out which we thought would be suitable to
represent our trailer and add to our campaign. We
asked around a few people to get some ideas and
suggestions and everyone we asked seemed to
prefer the one Holly had designed. We as a group
also agreed with the decision of using Holly’s sketch
because we thought this poster didn’t give away
too much and left a huge enigma for the audience
about what is happening. The feedback we got
from the people we asked was similar, as they had
said “No one knows why there are hands around
her face” and many more questions which is what
made this poster the best one for it. Also, some
people who wouldn’t understand the terminology
for this, had said “Why are her eyes black, I really
want to find out!!” So we took this feedback into
consideration and come to the assumptions that
we had left questions on our trailer for people
wanting to find out.
9. After we had chosen the teaser poster which we would like to chose for our
campaign, we sent out some surveys to try and get feedback to see whether
or not people agree with our decision. After we got the feedback from all
four of what one to choose, we went with the one that had the most
enigmas and was eye catching, but we had to see if people agreed with us,
so we sent out a few forms for people to give their honest opinions after
looking at our chosen teaser poster.
10. When considering ideas for our teaser trailer, we all had different suggestions, which left us
undecided on what to do in our teaser trailer. However, we knew that if we asked around and
got some advice about what we could do in a trailer based around four girls, it will become
easier for us to work with. It became recognisable that each of us had the same idea of a
setting in mind, which left the feedback quite easy to who we asked because that decision was
already made up.

14. • After we had chosen the perfect way to set out our trailer, we again sent out some
surveys for people to respond to. When we got the feedback we did, we knew we had
been successful in the context of it. Before we had finished the trailer, we asked around
to a few people to see what sort of idea would be best.
We did get some more feedback for our trailer, just before we
sent out the surveys, this is so we could have a better idea of
what to base the trailer on. This made it more clearer for us to
understand what our target audience would much rather prefer
in a supernatural thriller film. So therefore within our trailer we
took into consideration what people had suggested, and came
up with the idea we did, in order to suit our audience and our
campaign. With having the idea of using the ‘ouija board’ we
thought would be good because like common thriller films, it is
something that happens quite frequently, with the teenage girls
doing something they shouldn’t and having something bad
happen to them. This is why we asked majority of people in our
age group because where our film is targeted to this specific
age group, i.e. 15-30 we knew with their opinion and input, our
trailer would be suited more to them.
