issuance.
• Review plans for compliance with all Local and NYS Codes during inspections.
• Performs and coordinates inspections in conjunction with third party inspectors and Engineers for compliance with the approved
plans and SWPP guidelines.
• Record daily inspections in DHB software and maintain third party inspection reports for DHB files.
• Respond to and follow up on Building Code, Property Maintenance Code and Zoning complaints. If necessary stop work orders
and or violations are issued.

• Review applications, plans and specifications for commercial, residential, new construction and existing building construction
projects for compliance with all of the applicable New York State Codes as well as all Local Ordinances.
• Issue Building Permits and perform all inspections in accordance with the approved building construction plans and

• Supervise the department consisting of an assistant building inspector, a zoning enforcement officer and a clerk. Responsible

• Conduct biannual and annual fire safety/fire code compliance inspections of both commercial and multi-family residential
properties.
• Respond to and qualify complaints regarding zoning and illegal construction projects.
