2. Opinion of Student Magazine
I think one of the hardest things
to overcome is the balancing of the
text. It was a challenge trying to put
the stories on whilst also bringing
attention to the picture. In the end,
the balancing was unsuccessful and
was one of the covers major flaws.
The text slightly covers the model
and it gives the impression that the
model is in the background. Also,
the picture quality isn’t good. The
model looks slightly blurry.
3. Improvements
My skills have definitely progressed
since my preliminary task. This can
be seen in my final product. I feel
like I drew more attention to the
model this time. Everything looks
more organised and the colour
scheme is more appealing. The
layout is a lot tidier, however I still
need to be aware of the borders.
4. Final Impressions
I have learnt quite a few things whist doing this
coursework. I have learnt about how to apply certain
camera techniques (angle, distance, lighting etc.) to
make the object give a specific feel. I have also learnt
about the importance of bringing attention to the main
image, and how that – in turn- brings attention to the
magazine (if it’s on a store shelf).
