3. Like a plain weave for a woven fabric, Single
Jersey is the simplest form of knitted fabric. It is a
straightforward construction using only knit
stitches on the face of the fabric.
The crown of the loop will be towards the back of
the fabric, and only the two legs will be visible in
the form of a ‘V’.
Introduction:
4. The plain knit structures can be modified
with the following alternatives
-Knit Loop & Miss Loop
-Knit Loop & Tuck Loop
-Knit Loop, Miss Loop & Tuck Loop

6. Cross Miss Design
Cross miss is a miss-knit single jersey structure.
So one set of needle is used to produce this
structure. The repeat of the structure completes
on two courses.
7. Birds Eye or
Double Cross Miss Design
Birds Eye is a knit-miss single jersey structure. So
one set of needles is used to produce the structure.
The repeat of the structure completes on four
courses.
8. Weft Lock knit Design
Weft Lock knit is a knit-miss single jersey structure.
So one set of needles is used to produce the
structure. The repeat of the structure completes on
four courses.
9. Mock Rib Design
Mock Rib is a knit-miss single jersey structure. So one
set of needles is used to produce the structure. The
repeat of the structure completes on two courses.
10. Single Cross Tuck Design/ Single Pique
Single Cross Tuck is a knit-tuck single jersey
structure. So one set of needles is used to
produce the structure. The repeat of the
structure completes on two courses.
11. Double Cross Tuck or
Polo Pique Design
Polo Pique is a knit-tuck single jersey structure. So
one set of needles is used to produce the structure.
It is one of the very popular structures to produce
cut & sew knitwear. The prominence of the design
appears on the backside of the fabric. The repeat of
the structure completes on four courses.
12. Single Lacoste or Fred Perry
Design
Single Lacoste is a knit-tuck single jersey structure. So one set of
needles is used to produce the structure. It is also a very popular
structure to produce cut & sew knitwear. The prominence of the
design appears on the backside of the fabric. The repeat of the
structure completes on four courses.
13. Double Lacoste Design
Double Lacoste is a knit-tuck single jersey
structure. So one set of needles is used to produce
the structure. It is also a very popular structure to
produce cut & sew knitwear. The prominence of the
design near to the Single Lacoste fabric. The repeat
of the structure completes on six courses.
14. Simple Crepe Design
Simple Crepe Design may be a knit-tuck or knit-
miss single jersey structure. So one set of needles is
used to produce the structure. The repeat of the
structure completes on four courses.
15. Cellular Blister or Popcorn Design
Cellular Blister is a knit-tuck single jersey structure,
so one set of needles is used to produce the
structure. The prominence of the design appears on
the back side of the fabric. The repeat of the
structure completes on eight courses.
16. Twill Effects
Twill Effect may be a knit-tuck or knit-miss or tuck- miss single
jersey structure, so one set of needles is used to produce the
structure. The prominence of the design appears on the back side
of the fabric. The main features of this structure is that the
diagonal line (twill line) appears on the fabric surface like as
woven twill fabric. The repeat of the structure completes on
several courses.
17. Knit Denim
Knitting and weaving are two different technologies
in fabric manufacturing line. Now it is possible to
imitate the same appearance and properties in
different products that they produce.
18. Tuck Denim
Tuck denim can also be produce with almost similar
approach. Tuck loop increases a fabric’s GSM than a
knit loop does therefore GSM of the tuck denim is more
compared to a knit denim fabric.
19. Zigzag
Zigzag twill – The simplest forms of modified twill is the
waved twill achieved by reversing the direction of the
twill at suitable intervals. The reversal can occur either
upon a warp direction in which case horizontal wave is
produced , or upon a weft pick which results in a vertical
weave or a zig-zag effect .
20. Crow’s Foot
Crow’s Foot is a single jersey structure. So one
set on needle is used to produced this structure.
It is also a very popular structure to produce cut
and sew knitwear. The repeat of the structure
completes on 8 courses.
21. Bubble Knit
Bubble knit is a single jersey
structure. So one set on needle
is used to produced this
structure.
It is also a very popular structure
to produce cut and sew knitwear.
The repeat of the structure
completes on 16 courses.
22.
23. Mesh
Mesh knit is a single
jersey structure. So
one set on needle is
used to produced this
structure.
It is also a very
popular structure to
produce cut and sew
knitwear. The repeat
of the structure
completes on 16
courses.
