1. Magazine Contents Pages Analysis
Here I have analysed some existing contents
pages in order to determine codes and
conventions and form. I have analysed one
school magazine contents page and one music
magazine contents page to see what design
aspects I could use in my own design of a
magazine contents page.

to reiterate as it
informs the reader
that this is current
information and
helps to create a
brand identity.
Main Image – An
image of students
of the school which
will appeal to the
reader as they will
feel as if they can
relate to them as
they are their
peers.
Font of Contents
Page – Bold and
eye-catching,
possibly creating a
continuous house
style for the
magazine.
‘Freebie’ /Offer–
This will appeal to
the audience as it
will appear that
they will get more
than what they
initially thought.
List like contents of what
is in the magazine, which
is what appeals to me as
the reader, as it is clear
and easy to understand,
which Is the style I will use
for my contents page as I
think it is the most
appropriate.
The use of personal pronouns ‘You’ and the cover lines appeal to a whole range of
years which would then make them the audience of school pupils want to read on
and maybe want to buy future publications.
A range of stories that will
appeal to different year
groups, making the
magazine suitable for all.
