Croatia: Outstanding use of Calcareous stone in buildings and pavings

Following my previous document where I pointed out the #outdoor_paving in an Heritage City as Verona
(Italy), now it is the turn of another impressive paradigmatic example. I am drawing your attention to a
region, the coastal area of Croatia, where the #natural_stone (the Calcareous one) has been widely used
since the antiquity and it is still utilized being the perfect match between the buildings and the paving.
This carousel of images can bring to the table some key features that I wish share:
-Beauty: the beauty is inherent to the material itself then its beauty is spread to the surroundings and
landscape.
-Tradition: the use of natural stone in Croatia links the urban landscape to its tradition, with all the cultural
positive effects that can be radiated to the neighbourhood.
-Eco-friendly: the local stone being extracted in the surroundings is a definitively environmentally friendly
behavior, due to the material as a natural one and its supply-implementation short distance.
-Endurance: long useful live of the material revealed by the construction data of the Heritage.
This visual does not expect to be exhaustive but just a mere descriptive stroll over the city.
