This document outlines an English lesson plan about reading comprehension and analyzing short stories. The lesson has three parts: 1) Activating prior knowledge about plot and character analysis, 2) Having students read and answer questions about the short story "The Story of an Hour" by Kate Chopin, 3) Working in pairs to discuss characters and their behaviors in the story. For homework, students will create an alternate ending and share it in the next class. The lesson aims to teach students how to infer plot structure, comprehend a reading, and describe characters' personalities.
