Clap Switch is a device that is simply operated by sound i.e switch ‘on’ or ‘off’ the connected device through a clap sound. This is really for handicap person. It may be a thing of fun for all age hobbiest . This circuit will switch ‘on’ any Appliance connected to it(it may be a bulb, a fan, a tape, recorder or even a T.V set) through its relay (acting as a switch) on the sound of a clap and will switch it ‘off’ on the sound of second clap.

4. INTRODUCTION
Clap Switch is a device that is simply
operated by sound i.e switch ‘on’ or ‘off’
the connected device through a clap
sound. This is really for handicap
person. It may be a thing of fun for all
age hobbiest.
This circuit will switch ‘on’ any
Appliance connected to it(it may be a
bulb, a fan, a tape, recorder or even a
T.V set) through its relay (acting as a
switch) on the sound of a clap and will
switch it ‘off’ on the sound of second
clap.
5. In the circuit sound signals is converted into
electrical signals when a clap sound hits the
condenser microphone.
T-1 is an audio amplifier working in the AC
amplifier mode , T-2 & T-3 are flip flop. When
the sound strikes the mic, T-1 conducts and
changes states of T-2 &T-3 i.e. if T-2 is
conducting then T-3 is not conducting and vice
versa. Again when sound waves strikes the
microphone states of T-2 & T-3 are reversed. T-
4 is the drives of the relay. Hence whenever
there is a clapping sound the relay either
energizes or de-energizes as per the state of
the transistor T-2 & T-3 accordingly the
appliance connected (LED bulb here) gets on or
off.

8. WORKING OF CIRCUIT
A circuited switch, which operates
with sound of clapping hands or
something similar; i.e. the switch
comes to 'on' position when clapped
once or twice, and to'off' position
when again clapped once or twice
(depends on circuit design)
A clap -switch circuit is a sound
sensitive circuit. .
The operation of the circuit is simple.
Clap and the lamp turns on. Clap
again and it turns off.
9. APPLICATION OF CIRCUIT
Clap Switch is not restricted
to turn the LEDs ON and
OFF, but it can be used in
any electric appliances such
as Tube Light, Fan, Radio or
any other basic circuit which
you want to turn ON by a
Sound.
10. ADVANTAGES OF CIRCUIT
1.It can be used to turn ON and OFF
the LED or LAMP simply, by
clapping your hands.
2.We can also remove LEDs and
place a FAN or any other electric
component on the output in order to
get the desired result.
