• - Styles , whether related to personality (such as extroversion,
self-esteem, anxiety) or to cognition (such as left/right-brain
orientation, ambiguity tolerance field sensitivity),
characterized the consistent and enduring traits, tendencies,
or preferences that may differentiate you from another
person.
• - Strategies, are specific methods of approaching a problem or
task, modes of operation for achieving a particular end, or
planned designed for controlling and manipulating certain
information.
• Successful second language learners are usually people who
know how to manipulative style (as well as strategy) levels in
their day-to-day encounters with the language.

3. AWARENESS AND ACTION
For learners to become self-driven independent learners
beyond the classroom, they must be fully aware of their own
strengths, weaknesses, preferences, and styles, and be able to
capitalize on that metacognition through the use of appropriate
action in the form of strategic options.
The awareness-action relationship is fundamental to all human
learning and especially to acquiring complex skills like foreign
language.
