SIX SENSES FREEDOM BAY RESORT-St Lucia Caribbean
PROJECT MANAGER / DEVELOPMENT MANAGER
• Appointed Contract Administrator/Project Manager for Malgretoute Beach Hotel
Development Company, for the design and development of Freedom Bay Resort, Six
Senses Residences in Saint Lucia, Caribbean.
Developed by Affinity Real Estate in London, the resort’s fully capitalised value of
US$450 million.
The resort complex will comprise 110 Villas, (1BR, 2BR Villas), a
central facilities Hotel and will be operated by Six Senses.
40 Private Villas (4BR -6BR) are also to be developed with potential lease back
arrangements to Six Senses.
Actively involved in site wide masterplanning, detailed architectural design of
different Villas, FOH & BOH, and managing Government Agency approvals together with
Consultants and Affinity’s Development Director.
Resigned in September 2015 as Development Manager, overseeing the commencement of
3. the next phase of 22 Villa construction works plus early design phases of the Hotel
FOH/BOH and Spa with Six Senses.

Mid 2012, Ian relocated to Bali, Indonesia to expand work and development opportunities.

Purchased 16 Are land parcel near Berawa Beach. Ian developed a community title multi
unit model design for small resorts in Bali.

• Purchased Bayview Beachfront Apartments management rights on a prime beachfront site
21 units in Byron Bay, to redevelop the 30 year old complex.
Gained a Real Estate license in 2007.
• Commenced Ian Traill Architects to manage development works on behalf of 19 individual
owners. In late 2009 external redevelopment works completed - internal renovations 2010,
with new bathrooms, en suites and kitchens and upgraded interiors.

4. 2005-2007 - Dubai
ALMOJIL Development Group- SENIOR DESIGN MANAGER
• Recruited in Sydney as Senior Design Manager for Almojil Development Group, Dubai for
large scale mixed development project comprising hotels, a large retail mall and twin office
towers. Responsible for development of the project design brief and instrumental in
establishing an international competition for the project design.
• Project managed fit out of a commercial office building for Almoji headquarters.
SPARC –ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR OF DESIGN MANAGEMENT
• Invited to join SPARC Group as Associate Director Design Management in Dubai.
Commuted from Dubai to London as Design Manager, for luxury hotel refurbishment
project, Grosvenor Suites, Park Lane, London.
• Design Manager for a large scale mixed use development site in Bahrain w on reclaimed
land in the Gulf. The development contained marina based high end shopping precincts
with mid rise retail centres and shopping malls, new convention centre/concert hall, high
rise & low rise residential precincts, Hotels and low rise resort and Commercial/Business
high rise office precincts.
2002 - 2005
MULTIPLEX - Design Manager-Sydney
• Oversaw commercial/retail/hotel and residential projects.
Responsibility to manage and direct consultants performance generally; ensure quality
and branding of product and assist the Development and Marketing managers to reach
feasibility targets. Development of Multiplex Living branding to increase design quality
of residential projects.

• Pymble- 108 Unit medium density residential project at Pymble
• Sydney Olympic Park Australia- 3 residential towers with above ground car parking in
podium and commercial/retail at ground level
• World Square – major mixed use development of city block in Sydney bounded by
Liverpool, Pitt George and Goulbourn streets.

top site above Luna Park-DCM winner.

6 levels plus two level basement car parking with ground floor restaurant fit out in entry
lobby.
• Project Architect for Promontory 88 unit development in Pyrmont
4 storey low rise plus 2 x 7 storey high rise apartment towers above 4 storey public park-
Landscaped Giba Park to be reinstated over car park next to towers.
