What is physical fitness?
• It is associated with your ability
To work effectively, enjoy leisure,
and resist hypokinetic ( too little
activity) disease.
Generally, fitness is assessed
in four key areas: aerobic
fitness; muscular strength and
endurance; flexibility; and body
composition.
What is fitness?
•Experts define physical
fitness as “one's ability
to execute daily activities
with optimal
performance, endurance,
and strength with the
management of disease,
fatigue, and stress and
reduced sedentary
behavior.”
• What types of physical activities
have you participated in during
the previous year?
• Were your family involved?
• Were they as physically active as
you are?
Benefits physical activity
•Regular physical activity is one
of the most important things
you can do for your health.
Being physically active
can improve your brain health,
help manage weight, reduce the
risk of disease, strengthen bones
and muscles, and improve your
ability to do everyday activities.
•When you positively influence
your family and friends to live a
healthy and active life, you are
going beyond your own
personal fitness .
•You become an advocate of
living a healthy lifestyle through
physical activity participation.

widely considered to be the
greatest sprinter of all time.
He is the world record
holder in the 100 metres,
200 metres, and 4 × 100

• has become the first Olympic
gold medalist from the
Philippines after winning the
women's 55-kilogram
weightlifting category. Diaz
overtook LIAO Qiuyun of People's
Republic of China on her last lift
in the clean and jerk to win with a

than Liao.

to choose and perform exercises that promotes a
healthy lifestyle.

the activity
