6. The Huge Consumer War of Old Sometimes in order for us to see the outcome or future of war we have to look into the past. Most people remember the huge battle between the Beta and VHS. Tech specs and at the time production value show the Beta to be the better model hands down. It was the Blu-Ray of tape in the 70’s. The Beta shared a lot of what we see in today’s product. Like HD-DVD and Blu-Ray, it could not be played on any DVD player.
7. In the end there can only be one. The winner of this battle was the VHS. The less advanced model of tape which appealed to an audience who weren't into the long list of specs. They were more interested in a model that was good enough and cheap enough.
8. The Curtain Call With the war being far from over one has to wonder how this battle ends. Yes, HD-DVD looks to find what the VHS did to the Betamax all those years ago, but Blu-Ray is quickly become the consumer standard. Maybe another format will be introduced into this war in the years to come. Which side have I chosen to win the war?
