According to W.H. Ogburn
“Socialization is a process by which the individual learns to
conform to the norms of the group”.
state that
“The various process through which the original nature
became fashioned into the social being.”
5. Role of culture in Socialisation
Culture define Situations
Culture defines social situations for us. It is not only defines
but also conditions and determines- what we eat and drink,
what we wear,
when to laugh , weep, sleep, love, to make friends with, what
work we do, what God we worship and so on.

we should became a politician, a social worker, a doctor, an
engineer, a soldier, an farmer, a professor, an industrialist, a
religious leader, and so on is decided by our culture.
What career we likely to pursue is largely decided by our
culture.

Cultural transmission is how the culture is passed down from
generation to generation

what type of food he should take and in what mariner,
how he should cover himself and behave with his fellows, how he
should speak with the people and how he should co-operate or
compete with others.

Culture is way of living of people. Culture is basically Something
which gives identity to Society.
What the individual feel and act in society is his personality
Personality is product of socialization because habit develops
through socialization which is the central part of ones
personality.

A person living with a criminal is likely to adopt criminal habit.
This means socialization of a criminal leads to criminal
behaviour.
A person living in association of pious/Religious person adopt
piety in his behaviour. It means socialization is the part of
personality.
