Images used for my media coursework
1. In my magazine, I’ve used images such as these from science lessons in the school. All of
the images show students participating in learning activities such as doing practical science
experiments and listening to or observing the teacher doing practical demonstrations. Using
images such as these in the background of my cover and contents pages makes the school
look very academic and focused on the achievement of the students. Using images such as
the ones seen on this slide has made my magazine look very professional and appeal to
parents as well as the students themselves as students enjoy science practicals especially
when it’s with their friends. These pictures show the students focusing on the tasks at hand
which gives a good impression of the school to any parents that might be reading the
magazine. For the students however, seeing their friends and possibly themselves on a
significant part of the magazine such as the cover can make the magazine feel much more
personal and close to them as they are in some way directly involved with what they see in
the magazine.
2. In these pictures you can see students doing different sporting activities using the facilities
provided in the school. To parents, this shows that the school not only cares about their child's
physical fitness, but also that the school has a good amount of facilities for subjects such as PE
that the students can participate in and make use of. The second top picture shows a student
doing tricks with the ball potentially showing that the school also has some skilled sportsmen
and women attending it. To students, these pictures may be especially appealing as they are of
other students from the school and for the reason described on the previous slide, such
pictures will make the magazine feel much more personal as well as giving it a more familiar
feel due to including images of facilities in the school that the students see on a daily basis.
