1. The masthead of the front cover
will be‘plumline’ as that is the
heading that parents are familiar
with. This type of masthead is quite
shortand catchy.Therefore, this
goes well with how the front cover
is,as the front cover doesn’t
involvetoo much information,
however ituses more images. The
font for the magazinethat I have
used is quiteedgy but also
professional so thatit still adds
interest for the reader and that it
doesn’t seem boring.Also I have
kept the masthead on the left side
of the corner so I can add in the
school logo,which is importantso
that parents can identify that the
plumlinebelongs to plumstead
manor school.
I have placedthe plumstead manor
school logohere sothat
people/parents specificallyare aware
that the school owns thismagazine
and that the informationincludedis
onlyabout the school.
I have included the ‘latest news’
on the front cover of the
magazine. This is for parents, in
order to inform themof the dates
which are relevant andimportant
to them. For instance parents’
evening, Ofsted, gcse results day
dates. This lets parents know when
the school has a significant event
that theyshouldpartake in.
I have also added a ‘charity
event’ on the front cover,
which is helpful to the school as
parents will encouragetheir
children to donate some
money towards the event. I
have also added the date and
time which is useful
information,so students are
aware of the location and time.
I have included that there is new
interior design for Lerner; this
suggests that the school is being
looked after and is tryingto keep
their reputation as a professional
and clean looking building but
most importantly keeping good
status of the school. This will draw
the reader into findingout more
about it, as it’s something brand
new and it’s interestingbecause it
makes the school look good.
I put ‘non uniform day’ on the
magazine as itportrays that the
school can be different and do
let their students represent
themselves through wearing
their own clothes. However,
this is also kind of another
charity event, therefore this
shows parents that the school
does focus a lot on charity
events, which teaches students
to followand help charities in
the future, this then gives
parents a positiveoutlook on
the school so itdraws attention.
I have used a vastrange of images of the school buildingin order to showparents and
students how the school looks likeand how it is formally represented. Also,I used
images because text can be a littleoverpowering and boringwhich might be a little
disinteresting. Therefore, I used images to keep interest and so that parents and
students have a visual of what they are readingor what school they might be coming
to see.
I have includedthe whole schooland Lernerwhichisthe
