3. First I used
the clone
stamp tool
to remove
the shadow
from around
the actors’
body so that
the image of
him was
more crisp
and defined.
4. I then decided
that the
background
was a bit
plain so I took
a section of
the wallpaper
from another
image that I
took in Elm
Hall and
decided to
use this as the
backdrop.
5. I did this by using the
eraser tool to
remove the pieces of
wallpaper on the top
layer and it created
very old fashioned
effect which isn’t the
original style I was
going for but actually
worked quite well.
Writing will easily
been seen on top of
this wallpaper and it
adds an ornate and
classic feel to the
cover which reflects
the style in the
trailer and means it
appeals to a wider
audience.
6. I the used
the spot
healing
brush to
remove
blemishes
and marks
from the
face to
make it
look more
refined.
7. I went with the
masthead ‘big
screen’ and I
originally planned
to have this big
and bold but to
suit the style of
the page a thought
a more basic font
would work better
similar to
magazines like
‘Elle’. I then used
the iconic font for
the title of the film
to catch the eye of
the audience.
8. I then used magic
eraser tool to
remove the white
back ground from
round the
anchorage text
and used the
paint bucket tool
to fill in the text
white. I repeated
this with the
other text and
lightened the
image so that it
stood out to a
person walking
by.
9. I then filled in the
gaps around the
image with buzz
words, puffs, and
sell lines. I used a
font called ‘vani’ to
coincide with the
style of the
masthead and the
feel of the
magazine. I placed
certain words in
boxes to have
them stand out
more and then
kept the colour
scheme to a simple
three colours that
are similar to those
in the image so
that it didn’t over
complicate the
cover.
10. I then decided
to edit all of
the text to
make it pop
and stand out
on the page,
to do this is
played with
mainly the
drop shadow
and stroke as
well as other
options
available so it
could bring to
cover to life.
11. Finally, I added
the finishing
touches such as
the bar code,
social network
contact and
actually made
my own QR
code that links
to my blog so
that everything
would be easily
accessible.
