CALL :- computer Assisted language Learning
CALL was first used by Davies and steel in a
conference paper, and the term was wides pread
in the UK a year
CALL is often perceived, somewhat narrowly, as an
approach to language Teaching and learning

3. Technology used in CALL
 From a technology and pedagogical point of
view, Multimedia CALL is more restricted than
Multimodal language learning, which denotes
learning by means of Multimedia applications
that make use of several modes of bidirectional
human machine interfacing, such as typed text,
speech gestures etc.

4. Multimedia CALL
 Multimedia CALL refers to the learning of a (primarily second or foreign)
language supported by Multimedia technology.
 Multimedia CALL also encompasses non-sensory aspects that are central,
though not exclusive, to multimedia applications, such as interactivity, learner
control, and motivation.

supported by multimedia technology. We know that
multimedia CALL is generally used in a broader sense
than multimedia learning, as the latter refers specially
to learning with picture and sound, and as it’s research
focuses on the effects of the characteristics of aural
and visual muterials on learning.
