Focusing on movements
1. INTRODUCTION
Our a2en5on-span is like a muscle, and we have to train that muscle to improve our focus. By
prac4cing the skill of leHng distrac4ons come and go without losing focus on the task at hand,
we’ll hone in on a laser-like sense of concentra4on that only mindfulness prac4ce can bring.
GOAL:
Concentra5on ac5vity within emo5onal educa5on.
OBJECTIVES:
1. To reinforce the prac4ce of focussing our aCen4on at the present moment by taking
advantage of the use of ICT.
2. To concentrate by discovering the movement of different fruits while we move our arms
and hands at the same pace, following a kinaesthe4c-visual paCern.
3. To promote mind and body self control and pa4ence trough observa4on.
4. To adapt the energy flow of an ac4vity with a high ac4va4on state to a new, quieter one.
5. To induce a state of calm and serenity through breathing.
6. To acquire tools to feel mindful more o'en.
DESCRIPTION:
Step one: The teacher invites students to sit down on their chairs in a relaxed way, res4ng
their arms on the tables. Then, they close their eyes, breath consciously and prac4ce body
awareness for a few minutes by following direc4ons.
Step two: A'er the prepara4on step, students are ready to start the ac4vity. When they
hear a bell sound, they open their eyes carefully, listen to the teacher and look at the
digital board.
Step three: Then, they are said that a fruit is about to appear on the screen (e.g., an apple,
an orange, a pear, etc.) which they must “point” with their fingers.
