partner of Tuan Olona, LLP, in New York City. Active in his local community, Han-Hsien
Tuan is a former director of Immigrant Social Services (ISS), a Chinatown organization that
operates a number of programs for immigrants, including the After-School Program.
ISS seeks to further the education of children from immigrant families through high-quality
afterschool programming at four New York City locations: Public Schools 2, 46, 126, and
130. The program’s licensed staff teach children a variety of new skills in the areas of
technology, math, art, and reading.
In addition to providing homework assistance, the program engages students in preparatory
classes aligned with NYS Common Core Standards in the areas of English language arts
(ELA) and mathematics. Also offering students nutritional after-school meals, the program
holds the School Aged Child Care License granted by the New York City Department of
Health and Mental Hygiene.
