2. TRADE WIND
Wind that blows from the subtropics
to the tropics around the equator
Northeast
Southeast
3. PACIFIC OCEAN
The Pacific Ocean is the largest
ocean in the world, covering about
a third of the Earth's surface area,
with a surface area of 165,250,000
km².
Ocean warming due to solar
radiation in the pacific ocean
becomes warmer ocean
4. LA NINA
When the trade winds flow from the western part of the pacific ocean to the east, it causes
the area around Indonesia the sea surface temperature to increase and makes cloud growth
increase so that there is an increase in rainfall.
5. EL NINO
Mass of the warm surface water moving east to west across equatorial pacific ocean. This
will cause the weather in Indonesia to be colder and drier
6. TIME PERIOD
El Nino repeats in a span of 2 to 7 years or on
average every four years around December, while La
Nina occurs in a longer period of 6-7 years with a
time that is difficult to predict. El Nino was recorded
to have occurred 23 times and La Nina 15 times.
7. INDEX OF LA NINA AND EL NINO
Warmer sea levels cause the pressure above the air
to be lower. As the eastern tropical ocean warms
up,then the west will be colder, so the air pressure
above it is higher. And which forms an oscillation
pattern known as the Southern Oscillation. The
Outhern Oscillation Index (SOI) expresses the level
of El Nino and La Nina.

10. there are 4 levels of El Nino which are classified based on the level of sea surface
temperature anomaly or Sea Surface Temperature (SST). Among them are Weak, Medium,
Strong and Very Strong.El Nino is one of the triggers for drought during the dry season in
Indonesia. Weak level El Nino in Indonesia has occurred 8 times, namely in 1951, 1963, 1968,
1969, 1976, 1977, 2004 and 2006. Meanwhile, moderate level El Nino as is currently
happening has occurred 4 times, namely in 1986, 1987 , 1994 , and 2002.Read detikfinance's
