• Time Inc UK – They were found in 1968, previously owned by Time
warner. IPC is a subsidiary of Time Inc.
• Hearst magazines UK – Founded in 1887, one of the earliest magazine
brands. Owner of digital spy which is a British news and
entertainment website
• Bauer – German media group that was founded in 1875. They are the
largest magazine publishers in the UK publishing over 600 magazines
worldwide.

4. Time Inc
• Time Inc. is an American mass media company founded on November
28, 1922 by Henry Luce and Briton Hadden and based in New York
City. It owns and publishes over 100 magazine brands, most notably
its flagship Time
• It owns brands such as Whats on TV and NME. The genres of the
magazines are different and Time Inc reaches out to all consumers
• Time Inc used to be owned by time warner until March 6th 2013 when
it was split into Time warner who would focus on film and TV and
Time Inc who would focus on print media services
5. Is it the right publisher for Whack?
• I fell that Time Inc is the right publisher for Whack as they have the
power to reach out to a massive audience and have only been
successful so far since the Time Inc brand has started. They also
publish magazines for a rage of genres in which the majority of them
have been successful and it has worked for them.
• Time Inc also own NME which is a huge brand for rap or anything hip-
hop related. Considering my magazine is the same genre I feel that we
can do the same but introduce new and upcoming artists rather than
already established ones, and Time Inc would be the perfect publisher
to get us this brand awareness
6. Opportunities for Whack
• Time Inc UK would Provide massive opportunities for Whack such as
on online publishing which would allow us to reach out to a wider
audience base because of how well known Time Inc is as a publisher.
• Online publishing would massively impact my brand as the audience
can now view the magazines online as well now and if it appeals to
them they may purchase a physical copy and may also subscribe to
our magazine and this would gain us a bigger audience
