As most things are run by computer related activities these days, it is important to have a strong IT support staff that can quickly diagnose and fix the issues that arise daily. I am interested in an IT computer position in the IT Department which will utilize my current skill set, allow me to continue to grow professionally, and most importantly help the department run as efficiently as possible.
I have been a computer technician for eight years. I first realized my passion for computing technology at the age of 12 when I built my first computer. I think it is very important to have a love for technology to work every day in the field. It allows me to enjoy what I do, and pass the positive results onto my potential employer. Over the years I have done everything from retail sales, which taught me excellent people skills, to managing a computer repair shop where I fixed 1000+ computers a year. Under my management, the shop reported 50% more gross revenue compared to the previous years.
Serving in the military has helped me develop a strong skillset for Multi-tasking which is extremely helpful in team-oriented environments. My strong diagnostic skills enable me to quickly troubleshoot problems resulting in less down time and increased productivity.
Recently I was employed to help with an international deployment which was an amazing experience. I learned and experiences many things that I would not have been able to have if I didn’t take the job. The language barrier was the biggest hurtle I faced but between people helping to translate and me recognizing general window symbols and icons things went very smoothly. This experience defiantly made me want to try to join an international company so that I can travel if needed and gain more experience and cultural enrichment.
