Safety & Security Window Films

• Bullet will go straight through film and glass
• Will leave behind a bullet hole in the glass

How S&S Films Work
• Film + strong adhesive forms a protective
membrane on the glass.

• The defining feature of most Safety/Security films
• Thicker film is tougher to puncture (penetrate), BUT:
o May be more difficult to install
Can drive up cost and occurrence of installation related defects
o Longer dry times
Can be 45 – 60 days or longer
o Lower optical quality (haze, clarity, yellowness, distortion, etc)
• Recommend no thinner than 14-mil (0.014”) standard polyester based

FAQs
Are films bullet proof? Bullet Resistant?
• NO. They may, however, keep glass in place.
How long will it take for an intruder to get through?
• It is impossible to predict, and depends on a multitude
of factors. Films are a deterrent, and can provide
an increased measure of resistance compared to unprotected glass.
How long will films last?
• 3M films are backed with a warranty and service life
is expected to be 15+ years.
