The ATS circuit is used in any place or organization who have electricity problems and use multiple current sources for energy such as city power, Generator or Solar System, and the ATS circuit help them to switch automatically between electricity power sources when one is gone
2. DEFINITION
• ATS stands for Automatic Transfer Switch
• Its an electronic circuit that switches a load between two or
more than two sources.
• ATS can be manual and automatic
• An Automatic ATS can be installed on any place which two
power sources are involved
3. DEFINITION CONT…
• In an organization if there is two power sources,
• City power as primary source and generator power as
secondary electricity source
• In above case when city power fails the ATS circuits
automatically starts the generator and load generator power
based on timer
6. SECONDARY SOURCE
• It’s the source which is
always loaded for use
such as city power, solar
power or wind power
7. MAGNETIC SWITCH
• Magnetic switch is an electrical switch that switches when
a magnetic field affects it.
8. TIMER RELAY
• Control an event based on time.
The difference
between relays and time delay
relays is when the output
contacts open & close: on a
control relay, it happens when
voltage is applied and removed
from the coil; on time delay
relays, the contacts can open or
close before or after some time
delay
