Some people face this period of their life actively and positively, while others face many dilemmas and difficulties. This depends on the surrounding these young adults live in, their parents, their friends, their living conditions, their education, and many other factors.
This can often occur due to big changes or annoyance in life, or due to factors such as age or advancement from a certain stage (for example, school, work or childhood).
One's innermost concept of self as male, female, a blend of both or neither – how individuals perceive themselves and what they call themselves. One's gender identity can be the same or different from their sex assigned at birth.

Heterosexual people are sexually or romantically attracted to people of the opposite sex. Heterosexual men are sexually or romantically attracted to women, and heterosexual women are sexually or romantically attracted to men.

A transgender woman was labeled as male at birth but has the gender identity of a female. A transgender man was assigned female sex at birth but identifies as male.
Queer is an umbrella term for all sexual and gender minorities.
Some intersex people have genitals or internal sex organs that fall outside the male/female categories — such as a person with both ovarian and testicular tissues.
a person may be born with genitals that seem to be in-between the usual male and female types—for example, a girl may be born with a noticeably large clitoris, or lacking a vaginal opening, or a boy may be born with a notably small penis, or with a scrotum that is divided so that it has formed more like labia.
