2. Meash Media
Meash Media is a full service video production agency that are
based in Gateshead, who specialise in video production,
photography, animation and editing. The company is ran by Craig
& Victoria Measham who are based at Pride Media Centre in
Gateshead, as well as being based in Gateshead they are also
based around Newcastle, Sunderland, Durham, Middlesbrough
and are willing to travel anywhere in the UK. Meash Media is a
family ran business by siblings Craig & Victoria Measham, they
started this company in 2018 and has built up many loyal client
such as Pizza Uno, Sunderland Empire, Supreme Exterior Clean
and The Furniture Super Store. Originally based in Sunderland
Software Centre they decided to make the move to Pride Media
Centre where the facilities were better and they had more space to
accommodate their clients needs. At Meash Media they mainly
specialise in video production, but are willing to adapt to their
customers by also producing: Product photography, property
photography, commercial photography, wedding photography,
wedding videography, aerial and 360 VR. Ensuring that the best
customer service is provided they always prefer to have a face to
face talk with their clients to ensure that they meet their clients
needs.

3. Aladdin
Through my work experience I have been able to take part in great
opportunities that have allowed me to see how the industry works in
professional settings. One of the opportunities that I was able to take part
in was creating promotions for the Sunderland Empires Aladdin
promotions that were going to be seen by the general public. On the day I
was able to shadow a days worth of shooting and meet people who are
relevant in the industry such as different actors and other media experts.
One of the relevant people that I was able to meet was Gary Lucy who
was in Hollyoaks and The Bill, it also allowed me to meet drag queen Miss
Rory Blvd who is relevant within the performance industry. During the day
I was able to shoot some social media footage with the actors which was
then published to their social medias, I was also able to take a few images
of the actors and then edit them within lightroom, this allowed me to use
industry standard software and for the company to see some of my work.
We were then able to have a tour of the facilities and also see how the TV
advert was being made with specific characters that was then going to
eventually streamed on TV to the general public.

4. Pizza Uno
Another company that I was able to work with during work experience was
‘Pizza Uno’. For this I was able to use handheld gimbles during filming and
help assist in filming an advertisement for the pizza shop. I was also
allowed to help set up and see how the camera was stabilised on the
equipment and try it for myself. This allowed me to see how professional
equipment was used, and use it to create a product for a company. As well
as creating video content for the company we also had the opportunity to
take images for the company. By creating both video and print
advertisements for the company it allowed me to use different professional
equipment.
Pizza Uno was a different experience from the rest as it was very hands on
rather than just shadowing most of the shoot I was able to shoot a lot of
footage myself which was then included in the final cut.

5. Supreme Exterior Clean
Supreme Exterior Clean are roof cleaners who use the latest soft wash
cleaning equipment to provide the best possible cleaning outcome to
remove moss, leaves, algae and dirt and maintain a clean roof. When
they came into Meash Media they were wanting to record training videos
to inform their new employees how their company works and to maybe
inform new clients on how they actually clean the roof. During this
experience I was able to check the sound throughout different recordings,
this allowed me to check whether the sound was consistent throughout
the recording and to check whether there was any cracks or pops during
the recording. This experience was mostly shadowing a days worth of
filming, during this day I was also able to look at the script that the
company had created themselves and see If any changes needed to be
made.

6. Reflection
When looking back at my work placement I have had many opportunities to work
with and meet many industry professionals. During my work experience I have
also been able to work with a range of companies such as Pizza Uno, Supreme
Exterior Clean and The Sunderland Empire. This has also allowed me to use
industry standard equipment and software to help edit different products for
specific companies, these could be photoshop, lightroom and premier pro. When
using these software's I have been able to adapt and grow my skills and
knowledge on the software with the guidance of Craig and Victoria to help them
create the best outcome for their clients. From the opportunities that I have had at
Meash media so far shadowing the filming day for the Sunderland Empire really
allowed me to see how filming days are structured and planned thoroughly down
to the time of the actors arrival. It also allowed me to get involved with the social
media side of promotion which was a new experience for me. With the Supreme
Exterior Clean filming day I was able to listen to the sound as we were recording
to see if any cracks or pops could be heard throughout the recording, this was
also new to me as I don’t have much experience with the sound aspect of media.
With Pizza Uno being the most hands on experience I was able to use a handheld
gimble/ stabilizer to help film footage for a new advertisement for the pizza shop.
This allowed me to see how professional equipment is used and allowed me to
film my own footage that was used in the final cut. Overall, I think that my work
placement so far has gone very well and has allowed me to see how different
days are planned in the industry, an this has allowed me to meet many industry
