2. Mass or Niche
I think that my product is aimed at a niche market as
its aimed at sports fans in the south of London.
Although sports in the south of London is quite large
its not targeting a mass audience across the country.
By targeting a niche audience it means I am able to
make my work specific to a certain audience which is
sports fans in the south of London. Teams such as
Millwall, Charlton and others play in the south of
London which is a market in which I want to target my
work at as currently I think that there is not a
magazine who is currently doing that.
3. Age
I’m targeting the age range of 20-44 as that is the age
range in which most regional magazines are read. By
doing this it means I should be using a text and image
which is able to attract there interests. Also this would
mean putting more fact based articles in my work as
they are not going to want to know the gossip on what
is happening and also there must be specific and
relevant information to what they want to read about
which is the teams which they support.
4. Gender
I’m mainly targeting a male audience because sports
are predominantly watched by men. The magazine has
to be able to follow the stereotypes that males usually
follow and would mean that they are going to be more
likely to read this magazine. This would mean using
bold strong text and images which are likely to make
the male audience to be interested in the magazine. But
by this being mainly aimed at men it doesn't mean that
women are going to be unable to read the magazine.
5. Ethnicity
For ethnicity I would say that this magazine is targeted
at people of British origin as it seems as if they are
more commonly seen at football games in the south of
London. This means that my wording should be based
around the language that they would use and also they
should have images in which it attracts there attention.
6. Social Class
The social class which I am targeting is the working
class this is due to the clubs which I have decided to
put into my magazine being mostly clubs supported by
the working class. Teams such as Charlton and
Millwall are famous for there cheap ticket prices
meaning that the working class are able to go to there
games. This means that I have had to use terminology
used by the working class daily so that they are able to
understand the point which I am trying to make to the
readers of the magazine.
