2. Style sheet
Font: perfect Christmas and own written from - dafont -
I chose this font for
the main title
because the letters
are clear and and it
look somewhat
magical with the
little snow flakes
flying around the
lettering.
I chose this font for the
articles because it looks
like its slightly hand
written and this would
make the articles feel
more personal to
whoever is reading
them.
I chose a character font from da font
so I would be able to add little
illustrations and make the magazine
feel more personal
3. Style sheet
• Colours:
The types of colours I will use and
keep in mind when creating my
magazine are warm colours and
colours usually associated with
Christmas. for example reds,
greens, gold, white and ivory. I
collected a few different colour
pallets and combined them in
Photoshop to create a pallet of my
own that I can work of and help
remind me of what colours I can
use that go together.
I think I will mainly stick to a red
type pallet as many associate red
at Christmas with Santa and a
warm fire.
4. Front Cover Layout
I made a potential design for my final
magazine cover using Photoshop. I really like
how it turned out, not too complicated easy
to know what your looking at and the text is
easy to read over the photo. To make this
better add another just green box or so it
doesn't look to out of place and collect my
own image for the final cover.
5. Process
• I collected some images to
help me make a professional
layout when taking
photographs of my cookies for
my double page.
6. Double Page Layout
For my double page layout I decided to make
it on DIY Christmas cookies. I didn’t end up
liking either of these layouts I created and
made a new double page layout from scratch
scrapping the initial idea of pictures of one of
the sides. This is because their was too much
white space and I didn’t like the text to image
ratio.
I did end up liking some things I did for the
experiments. For example the different fonts
put together and a big photo of the final
outcome.
7. Double page layout
• While creating another double
page layout I kept In mind what I
didn’t like from my first couple
experiments and changed it.
• I much prefer the text to image
ratio and a non solid white
background. This is because after
some time it can start to hurt
your eyes, so I might play around
with the text box colour on my
actual double page spread. I kept
the use of different font for the
different sections and I still like
the turn out so I will try
implement it into my final piece.
