Disaster Risk Reduction
• How did your work support the implementation of the Hyogo Framework
for Action:
– Developed policies and supported various distribution safety and emergency
response projects related to dangerous goods transportation with country
chemical associations and local authorities
• From your perspective what are the main gaps, needs and further steps to
be addressed in the Post 2015 Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction in
– Research: risks and impacts of critical dangerous goods transportation through
major public areas and current safety measures, especially in developing countries
where major chemical industries are shifted to.
– Education & Training: strengthening of industrial emergency response for local
emergency responders in developing countries
– Implementation & Practice: the multi-stakeholders approach to be continued to
strengthen distribution safety and capabilities of emergency response of dangerous
goods transportation
– Policy: development of dangerous goods transportation regulations and build up
emergency response capabilities of dangerous goods transportation in developing
countries / regions.
