Kartikey Dev Singh
Jaipur: The ultimate
news of the day is
that by now curtains
have been drawn on a
week long Rajya Sab-
ha political drama in
Rajasthan with a few
far reaching political
implications. The ul-
timate winner is Ge-
hlot with two Rajya
Sabha seats in his
pocket.
The first outcome
of this entire exer-
cise is that in no cir-
cumstances Sachin
Pilot will be joining
BJP. BJP’s initial plan
to pull down Gehlot
government under the
pretext of Rajya Sabha
polls, with a tactical
support of Pilot camp’s
30 MLAs has finally
blown out because of
two factors i.e, Pilot re-
fuses to join the Saffron
party and his camp
fails to provide the re-
quired strength of 25-30
Congress MLAs to
BJP’s fold.
With this impres-
sion all curiosities
about the political
future of Pilot in Ra-
jasthan comes to an
end. But according
to Satish Poonia,
nothing is final and
anything may hap-
pen at anytime in
the world of cricket,
films and politics.
So, lets see!
The second out-
come is that by still
remaining in the Ge-
hlot government, Pi-
lot will continue to
fight for his ‘lost’ (?)
authority and status
as the Deputy Chief
Minister and will al-
ways be asserting on
certain issues, mostly
related to his depart-
ments, in the Cabinet
meetings with an ac-
tive support of his
camp ministers.
The third outcome
according to Pilot camp
sources, is that if at
any stage, this camp
succeeds in getting or
managing the support
of 25-30 Congress
MLAs, it may form a
new regional party un-
der the leadership of
Pilot as their Chief
Ministerial candidate.
At this point, Pilot
supporters are ‘hope-
ful’ of a likely BJP sup-
port from outside.
But at this point there
is a major roadblock for
Pilot! According to
highly placed BJP
sources, even if an op-
portunity to form gov-
ernment knocks on
BJP’s doors, only a
leader associated with
the RSS and BJP will be
chosen as Chief Minis-
ter. Notably, at pre-
sent, Union Minister
Gajendra Singh
Shekhawat is the
prime candidate for
the Chief Ministerial
position from BJP.
And thus, there is no
question of BJP giv-
ing support to an out-
sider like Pilot.
But according to po-
litical observers, the
political situation and
ground realities in Ra-
jasthan are not ‘appro-
priate’ at the moment
to ‘create or cope with’
such a situation. As
usual, this time also
Gehlot is in complete
command and control
of the situation and
there is not even a re-
mote possibility of dis-
lodging him for the re-
maining period of his
five-year tenure.
The reason: During
an ongoing Rajya
Sabha crisis, a smart
Gehlot, with an ac-
tive support of a few
senior friends like
Ahmed Patel and Avi-
nash Pande, has fur-
ther fortified and
consolidated his posi-
tion in Jaipur and
New Delhi, especially
before Sonia and Ra-
hul Gandhi.
The fourth outcome
is that there is an ex-
tremely remote possi-
bility of a Gehlot-Pilot
‘patch-up’inthepresent
form of ‘distribution of
power and authority’
between the two. Ac-
cording to sources
close to Pilot, the ‘main
pain and disappoint-
ment’ in Pilot’s mind is
that he has been com-
pletely ignored or rath-
er humiliated during
the last one-and-a-half
year of the functioning
of Gehlot government
but in this context, Ge-
hlot camp says that af-
ter failing to get the

Jaipur: District col-
lector Dr Jogaram
has asked district of-
ficials of various de-
partments to conduct
more field visits to
resolve people’s prob-
lems. He took a meet-
ing of PHED, Munici-
pal Corporation, JV-
VNL, health, forest
and mining, and many
other departments.
He was not pleased
that many depart-
ments have not set up
a flood control room
until Monday.
Dr Jogaram asked of-
ficials to visit Tehsils
and blocks not just
Jaipur city as people
may have work pending
or problems because of
COVID-19. He told PHED
officials to give the live
locations of available
water tankers. Also, he
asked them to take sam-
ples regularly to main-
tain water quality.
The district collec-
tor said that to avoid
water contamination
during monsoon, sew-
erage and water sup-
ply lines should be
regularly checked. He
asked JMC, JDA, and
other departments to
set up flood control
rooms without delay.
The JMC officers
were also instructed to
expedite drainage clean-
ing after complaints of
slow work. Deputy zonal
commissioners and dis-
trict administration of-
ficers were asked to take
joint inspection. JDA
officials were asked to
give a report of drain-
age cleaning. Along
with JMC, they were

Jaipur: The Jaipur De-
velopment Authority
(JDA) seems to have
risen above the estab-
lished system in the
state otherwise how
else is it possible for it
to ignore the instruc-
tions by Chief Secre-
tary DB Gupta and UDH
Minister Shanti Dhari-
wal themselves?
JDA might be boast-
ing of many develop-
mental activities but
apparently the most
crucial one- the 'Ring
Road' project- doesn’t
feature on its priority
list. What is even stran-
ger is that JDA is negli-
gent of this ambitious
project with loss of rev-
enueanywherebetween
Rs 2,500-3,000 crore for
itself.
This all is happening
due to the inability of
the JDA to execute an
Rs 860 crore project on
Agra road just due to its
inefficiency in not be-
ing able to acquire a
3200 sq meter land in
possession of Reliance
where it operates a fuel
disposal outlet. This
3200 sq meter patch lies
exactly in the middle of
the proposed cloverleaf
as per the designs of the
ring road.
Since the land isn’t
still in JDA’s possession
so it can’t hand over the
same to NHAI, which,
as a result, can’t float
tenders for the pro-
posed cloverleaf. The
JDA is still harping on
the old tune that the
10-month-old matter is
about to be resolved as
it has arrived at an
agreement with Reli-
ance for the land.
The Authority claims
that soon it will formal-
ize the agreement and
acquire the land after
allotting 1100 sq meters
of land to Reliance in
Chitrakoot scheme.
Imagine what is at
stake? Total land ear-
marked for the ring
road project is 1 crore 69
lakh 20 thousand sq me-
ters of land.
Out of this, the 90-me-
ter wide Transport Cor-
ridor will have 42 lakh
30 thousand sq meters.
4 lakh 30 thousand sq
meters will be given as
compensation to the
landowners in the form
of 25% developed land.
50 lakh 76 Thousand sq
meter land is reserved
for facilities area. So fi-
nally, JDA will have 33
lakh 84 Thousand sq
meters of land for auc-
tion. If it is calculated
at an approximate price
of Rs 6000/meter then
JDA will receive at least
more than Rs 2000 crore.
Apart from this, JDA
also has around 300
bigha land in the vicin-
ity of the proposed ring
road which calculated
at the base price of Rs
5000/sq meter will fill in
another Rs 450 crore.
So JDA stands to gain
a bare minimum of Rs
2500 crore in this cru-
cial era of zero revenue
and a negative growth
economy. Financial loss
aside, the citizens are
paying the price by lay-
ing down their lives in
accidents occurring
due to heavy vehicles
venturing in the city
area due to the absence
of a ring road.
It is high time that
JDA Commissioner T
Ravikant takes the pro-
ject as his topmost pri-
ority and makes JDA,
Jaipur City, and the
state 'smart' in the real
sense of the term.
HasJDAforgottenRingRoadProject?
JDA is negligent of this project with revenue loss anywhere between ` 2,500-3,000 cr for itself

Jaipur: CM Ashok Ge-
hlot has been leading
the front in Corona war,
continuing on that a
special campaign to cre-
ate awareness about the
infection would be held
form June 21, which
would end on June 30.
The health depart-
ment has begun prepa-
rations for the statewide
campaign for control-
ling and creating aware-
ness campaigns, under
Health Minister Dr
Raghu Sharma.
Dr Sharma informed
that during the cam-
paign, the health depart-
ment would go door to
door for active surveil-
lance. They would in-
form people about pre-
cautions for protection
fromcorona.“Itisneces-
sarythatpeopletakepre-
cautions and follow the
rules including social
distancing,” he added.
According to him,
daily positive cases may
be increasing, but 75%
of people have turned
negative from positive.
He said that cases have
been doubling in 28 days
while the fatality rate is
2.28%.
Dr. Sharma said that
CM Gehlot’s decision to
allow 5,000 tests per day
for people from other
states showed his sensi-
tivity. There was no test-
ing facility in the state
till March 2. However,
under the leadership of
CM, the department has
now developed a capac-
ityof 25,250testsperday
anditwouldreach40,000
in coming days.
He informed that the
daily 13-14,000 tests are
being conducted. While
17 districts have testing
facilities, soon all dis-
tricts will have testing
facilities.
He lamented that
some people are still vio-
lating rules by not wear-
ing masks, not washing
hands regularly and vio-
lating social distancing
norms. This careless-
ness can be fatal for
them as well as others.
He said that the state
government has saved
people’s lives by arrang-
ing isolation wards, ded-
icated hospitals and
COVID care centres. At
one point, 7.25 lakh peo-
ple were home quaran-
tined and 34,000 in insti-
tutional quarantine
whereas only 1.25 lakh

DEATH SNATCHES
A TALENTED
CINE ACTOR
t will be inappropriate to re-
peat the clichéd ‘those whom
God loves, die young’ for the
talented Sushant Singh Rajput
for the simple reason that his
was not a case of natural death. He was
only 34, too young to die the way he did
and leave his family, fans and fellow ac-
tors mourning. Sushant committed sui-
cide by hanging on Sunday, June 14.
On June 3, 2020 Sushant Singh Rajput re-
membered his mother in an emotional Insta-
gram post. He wrote, “Blurred past evaporat-
ing from teardrops/ Unending dreams carv-
ing an arc of smile/and a fleeting life, nego-
tiating between the two…Maa”. The post had
2,523,472 likes and garnered over 1.5 lakh
comments. He had 11.2 million followers on
Instagram, yet somewhere deep down he was
lonely. That makes one thing clear, virtual
world offers no support to a tormented mind.
The young strapping actor who gained
fame, but no recognition from a nepo-
tism-infested film industry, for essaying
memorable roles in Chhichhore, MS Dho-
ni: The Untold Story, Kai Po Che, Kedar-
nath, Raabta and a few others, tragically
ended his life one doesn’t know why.
Some say he was suffering from depres-
sion as he did not get due recognition
from an industry. Others like Kangana
Ranaut blame mafia-like groups which
have a stranglehold on the film industry
and ensure that artistes not in their camp
are hounded out as the cause.
His shocked co-actors and fans find it hard
to believe that Sushant committed suicide as
it went against what he said in Chhichhore. In
the film Sushant plays an engineer whose son
tries to commit suicide by jumping off a high
rise. To aid his son’s recovery, he recounts his
own journey as an engineering student and
howheovercameoddswiththehelpof friends.
The message he conveys through the film was
not to commit suicide in any situation. Ironi-
cally in real life Sushant could not fight the
demons in his mind, and those out hurting the
morale of young artistes in Bollywood.
Sushant was a man of varied interests,
astrophysics being one of them. He was
a science buff, wrote director Abhishek
Kapoor. He concluded his note with, “stay
interstellar”. An astrophysicist Dr Karan
Jani had this to say, “Our conversations
would go into the abstracts from String
theory to Sartre…I rarely get such in-
sightful conversations…”
Whatever may have led Sushant to take the
extreme step, the fact is that depression is the
second leading cause of death in India. The
problem with depression is that many people
shy away from mentioning it, while others
are unaware of the condition which is often
confused with sadness and pessimism.
Sushant has passed on to join other
stars on the firmament. A quote aptly de-
scribes his demise, “Destiny plays its
cards in a way that no one can compre-
hend.” The show will go on.
IN-DEPTH
I
CA Raghavan made a name
for himself as a distinguished
diplomat representing the
country as the High Commis-
sioner to Pakistan and Singa-
pore, both countries with
strong historical connections
to India. His book on Paki-
stan ‘ The People Next Door:
The Curious History of In-
dia’s Relations with Paki-
stan’ is hailed as a classic
story of two nations divided
by contesting ideologies and
an arbitrary line which takes
no account of natural align-
ments. Earlier his work ‘At-
tendant Lords: Bairam Khan
and Abdur Rahim, Courtiers
and Poets in Mughal India’
received the Habib Memorial
Prize from the Indian Histo-
ry Congress in 2017.
Post his superannuation, as
Chairman of the ICWA he is
still very active in the academ-
ic and literary circuits giving
regular talks and presenta-
tions on issues concerning In-
dia’s neighbourhood and her
security. But this column is to
discuss another dimension:
that of TCA Raghavan as a pro-
fessional historian, and his
tribute to three distinguished
history scholars: Jadunath
Sarkar, GS Sardesai, and
Raghubir Sinh. As students of
history, we are aware of the
seminal contributions of all
threeof them:JadunathSarkar
(1870-1958) on the Mughals, GS
Sardesai (1865-1959) on the
Marathas and Raghubir Sinh
(1908-1991) on the Rajputs. His-
tory Men is a tribute to the his-
torical scholarship, collabora-
tion, and friendship between
these three scholars of Indian
history, but also shows and
highlights the various factions
of the Indian History Con-
gress, the public and private
scandals of the university sys-
tem, the petty intrigue, and
cunning employed by col-
leagues to oust each other from
government committees and
public honours.
Although Sardesai was
the eldest of the three, it was
Jadunath Sarkar who was
the centre of this triangular
association with the bulk of
the extant correspondence
consisting of letters between
him and GS Sardesai on one
axis, and with Raghubir
Sinh on the other. We have
fewer letters between Sard-
esai and Sinh. Their collab-
oration was for understand-
ing India’s past in the later
Mughal period, and this re-
quired that Sarkar had ac-
cess to records of the Mara-
tha sources, and Sardesai
for the Persian sources on
Marathas as the two forces
were opposed to each other,
but also intertwined.
Raghubir’s research was on
Malwa in Transition or a
Century of Anarchy (1698-
1766). So their interests and
their tracts were quite com-
plementary.
Sardesai had joined the ser-
vice of Baroda state immedi-
ately after his graduation from
Elphinstone College in 1888
and was soon asked to be the
tutor to the young prince, but
his passion for historical re-
search was so strong that he
sought retirement after putting
in 37 years as Sardesai master.
He moved to Kamshet, in 1925
as a small village near Pune
where his brother, a doctor had
built a bungalow, and he wrote
the eight-volume Marathi Riya-
sat and the two-volume British
Riyasat, which established his
reputation in Maratha history
– within the state, but it was his
lecture on Maratha History at
the Patna University which fi-
nally established his reputa-
tion. These were published at
Sarkar’s insistence as the Main
Currents of Maratha History.
The youngest of the three,
Raghubir Sinh, was also un-
like the two senior academic
dons in the sense that he was
not middle class, but the
heir to a state which was en-
titled to an eleven gun salute
and the title of His High-
ness. And what led him to
study history was the Bol-
shevik Revolution in Russia
which led to the overthrow
of Tsar Nicholas. That even-
ing, his father advised him
‘no one knows what the fu-
ture holds, and it is possible
that the princely states will
face great change, and may
well come to an end. It is
therefore essential that you
should be fully educated,
and learn to stand on your
own feet’.
And thus he became a histo-
rian, first, ding his Ph.D. and
publishing Pre medieval India
(in Hindi ) in 1931, with Ja-
dunath Sarkar endorsing he
book with fulsome praise ‘ it
strikes a new line by locating
History not as a ‘ record of
cores and follies of mankind,
but as a movement of human-
ity. He attempts to give us the
philosophy of Indian history –
the why and how of things –
during that period, and I this
way distinctly enriched our
vernacular literature ‘. And
then Sarkar agreed to be his D
Litt guide and the work Malwa
in Transition saw the light of
the day.
History Men then goes on
to describe History as Disci-
pline, Struggle and Herit-
age, and in each of these
chapters, the historical per-
spective and nuance of these
three scholars come to the
fore. A great read for all

ovember 1959.
Film director
Alfred Hitch-
cock is at his
commercial
and critical peak after
the successes of Vertigo
(1958) and North by
Northwest (1959). So
what does he do next? A
black-and-white made-
for-TV movie hastily
shot, with no big-name
actors and a leading ac-
tress who takes a show-
er, and … well, we’ll
come to that.
Psycho (1960) remains
Hitchcock’s most celebrat-
ed film. But it is really two
films, glued together by the
most iconic scene in cine-
ma history.
Part one is a run-of-
the-mill morality tale.
Marion Crane (Janet
Leigh) steals $40,000
from her Phoenix em-
ployee, and goes on the
run. Guilt-stricken, she
pulls into a deserted mo-
tel and chats with the
owner, Norman Bates
(Anthony Perkins).
He seems friendly
enough – he makes her
sandwiches and talks fond-
ly about his mother – and
Marion resolves to return
the money.
Part two is a whodun-
nit. Marion’s sister (Vera
Miles) and her lover
(John Gavin) investigate
her disappearance, and
trace her steps back to
the motel. Soon, they be-
gin to have suspicions
about Norman.
THRILLER WITH
A TWIST
Audiences saw things in
Psycho that had never been
shown before on screen. A
toilet flushing. A murderer
who goes unpunished. A
post-coital Leigh, lying on
a bed, dressed only in white
underwear, while Gavin
stands topless over her.
All of Hitchcock’s trade-
mark obsessions are on
show: voyeurism, the dom-
inant matriarchal figure,
the blonde heroine, the un-
trustworthy cop.
Over his career, Hitch-
cock had always flouted
Hollywood’s Production
Code, those rigid rules that
had been in place since the
1930s that prohibited on-
screen nudity, sex and vio-
lence. Nowhere is Hitch-
cock’s brazen censor-defy-
ing clearer than in Psy-
cho’s “shower scene”.
Hitchcock, the master of
suspense, never actually
shows knife slicing flesh.
Everything is implied,
through liberal doses of
chocolate sauce, hacked
watermelons, Bernard
Herrmann’s screeching
violins, and Leigh’s blood-
curdling screams.
In one 60-second scene,
Hitchcock shatters all the
rules. It’s the most famous
of all bait and switches:
you expect one thing, but
get another. Up to that
point, no film had killed
off its lead character so
early in the story (nowa-
days, such an audacious
twist shows up every-
where, from The Lion King
to Games of Thrones). As
Leigh slides down the
blinding white tiles, arm
outstretched, a new kind
of cinema is born: twisted,
shocking, primal.
INVENTING THE
CINEMA EVENT
Hitchcock famously or-
dered cinemas to not let
anylatecomersintoscreen-
ings of Psycho, to keep the
element of surprise.
Previously, cinema-go-
ers could wander into a
film midway through,
watch the last half, and
then stick around for the
restart to catch up on what
they had missed. When
your leading lady is butch-
ered 45 minutes in, the film
makes little sense if you
arrive late – hence Hitch-
cock’s decree.

the road has been built.
“These are no ordi-
nary ties and we are
bound by ‘roti’ and
‘beti’ (livelihood and
marriage). No power in
the world can break it,”
Singh said.
The bilateral ties be-
tween the two countries
came under strain after
Singh inaugurated a
80-km-long strategical-
ly-crucial road connect-
ing the Lipulekh pass
with Dharchula in Ut-
tarakhand on May 8.
Nepal’s Parliament
had on Saturday unani-
mously voted to amend
the Constitution to up-
date the country’s new
political map, laying
claim over three strate-
gically key areas, in-
cluding Lipulekh, along
the border with India.
“If the Lipulekh-
Dharchula road has
given rise to some mis-
understanding among
the people of Nepal, I
believe we can sit to-
gether to address it. We
can do it through dia-
logue,” the defence
minister said.
Singh, however, reit-
erated India’s stand
that the 80-km road had
been built in Indian ter-
ritory, while acknowl-
edging that this had
caused some misunder-
standing in Nepal.
The road will shorten
the duration of the
Kailash Mansarovar
pilgrimage by six days,
according to Singh.
Nepal had reacted
sharply to the inaugu-
ration of the road,
claiming that it passed
through Nepalese terri-
tory. India rejected the
claim asserting that the
road lies completely
within its territory.
Nepal had last month
released the revised po-
litical and administra-
tive map of the country
laying claim over the
strategically key areas,
more than six months
after India published a
new map in November.
At pains to highlight
the deep ties between
the two countries, the
defence minister spoke
about the valour of the
Gorkha regiment,
whose soldiers are most-
ly drawn from Nepal,
and noted that its battle
cry is “Maha Kali, Aayo
Gorkhali” (Goddess
Kali, Gorkhas are here).
“How can the In-
dia-Nepal relations be
broken?” he asked.
“No matter how much
fencing one does
across Dharchula,
these ties cannot be
ended,” he said.
In his address, Singh
also highlighted the
work done by the Modi
government and said it
had delivered on a host
of promises like abro-
gation of Article 370
and prohibiting instant
triple talaq.
Gap between politi-
cians’ promises and
their work had caused a
“crisis of credibility”,
but the Modi govern-
ment has triumphed
over it by delivering on
the party’s manifesto,
Singh said.
The government has
also been working to
reduce India’s depen-
dence on imports in the
defence sector by boost-
ing domestic manufac-
turing and exports of
defence equipment. It
has set an export target
of USD 5 billion by
2024, he said.

India has progressed a

endra Modi-led NDA

Notice to Vedanta for
alleged royalty theft
Kashiram Choudhary
Jaipur: The premier
zinc mining and
manufacturing com-
pany of India - Hin-
dustan Zinc Limited
aka Vedanta has al-
legedly indulged in
royalty theft from
state government. In
past five years, the
company mined cad-
mium along with zinc,
and it is alleged that
theinformationof this
mining was not given
to state government.
The mining depart-
ment has been given a
report in this regard
by State Directorate of
Revenue Intelligence
claiming misrepresen-
tation in statistic and
on the basis of report,
mining department
has issued a notice to
the company of recov-
ery of Rs 2,500 crore.
The SDRI has reg-
istered a preliminary
investigation report
against Vedanta and
handed the report of
alleged royalty theft
of Rs 2,500 crore to
mining department.
Based on this report, a
recovery notice has
beenissuedtoVedanta,
which is the biggest
lead and zinc mining
companyinRajasthan.
As per MMDR Act
1957, mining compa-
ny has to inform In-
dian Bureau of Min-
ing of Central gov-
ernment and mining
and geology depart-
ment of state govern-
ment about minerals
and by products
mined in any state.
SDRI conducted a suo-
moto investigation
wherein it was alleged
that for past several
years, company re-
cordsdonotshowright
quantity of by-prod-
ucts - silver and cad-
mium-whichhasalleg-
edly caused a royalty
loss of Rs 2,500 crore to
state. SDRI studied
production details of
Hindustan Zinc Limit-
ed from 2012-17 and
then studied statistics
of IBMandminingand
geology department of
state govt when data
was, allegedly, not
foundtobecorrespond-
ing,itwasclaimedthat
Vedanta has misrepre-
sented quantity of sil-
ver. IBM was told more
production while min-
ing department was
told of lesser and it is
alleged that company
hid information about
mining 3.65 lakh kg of
silverwhichhasresult-
ed in the alleged ex-
chequer loss to govern-
ment. Thus mining de-
partment has served a
30 day notice to com-
pany asking for right
information about roy-
alty, failing which the
recovery will be done.

From P1
Chief Ministerial as-
signment, Pilot became
non-cooperative and
rather defiant towards
the Chief Minister
from day one and there-
fore in such a ‘tense’
situation, there was
virtually no opportuni-
ty for a soft-spoken Ge-
hlot to have a proper
understanding with
Pilot.
Now, there is a per-
petual frustration and
disappointmentonboth
the sides and therefore
the ‘show will go on’ in
its present form only.
Pilot has also com-
plained to the Con-
gress High Command
that Gehlot camp has
painted him as a ‘vil-
lain’ among Con-
gress MLAs in the
ongoing Rajya Sabha
poll scenario and ef-
forts have been made
in a planned way to
tarnish his image.
The fifth outcome is
that the upcoming po-
litical appointments
and Cabinet reshuffle
may provide a much
awaited ‘opportunity’
to the dissidents to
gather the support of
all disappointed MLAs,
who could not be ac-
commodated in the
CabinetorintheBoards
or Corporations. Pilot
camp and other forces
hope that this opportu-
nity may bring at least
15-20 more disgruntled
Congress MLAs closer
to them, in addition to
existing dozen Pilot
camp MLAs, once the
exercise of political ap-
pointments and Cabi-
net reshuffle is over by
June end.
There is an element
of urgency in com-
pleting this exercise
because lot of ‘assur-
ances’ have been
made by Gehlot camp
to a number of Con-
gress, Independent
and BSP MLAs and if,
because of any rea-
son, this reshuffle is
further postponed,
then it will be really
difficult for Ashok
Gehlot and Avinash
Pande to control the
resentment.
The sixth outcome is
that because of a num-
ber of reasons or pres-
sures or political com-
pulsions,afewhardcore
Pilot camp MLAs have
started ‘distancing’
themselves from Pilot.
The latest case is of a
young hardcore Pilot
camp MLA from Ra-
jakhera (Dholpur) Ro-
hit Bohra, who appar-
ently under the pres-
sure of his aging fa-
ther and a former
Gehlot Cabinet minis-
ter Pradhuman Sin-
gh, has virtually left
Pilot camp and joined
Gehlot’s ‘young bri-
gade’. Rohitdidn’teven
attend late Rajesh Pi-
lot’s anniversary
prayers at Bhandana
(Dausa) on June 11. Ge-
hlot camp does not rule
out possibility of join-
ing of a few more Pilot
camp MLAs in Gehlot’s
bandwagon.
The seventh out-
come is like all great
stories! This RS elec-
tion story or drama
also comes to an end,
four days before
polling date ie
June 19.
Congress
is com-
fortably placed to win
on both seats and BJP
is now on a backfoot
after failing to garner
support from ‘expect-
ed’ 30 MLAs from Pi-
lot camp as the ‘plan’
to ‘poach’ MLAs
stands dropped by
now on grounds of in-
sufficient numbers
and other political
reasons.
The eighth outcome
is that right after the RS
polls, the Cabinet re-
shuffle is on the
cards and it is
believedthat
Pilot camp
will be
dealt with a further
blowasitsmemberswill
be ‘weakened’ and Ge-
hlot camp will re-initi-
ate its effort to bring a
new chief in the PCC,
this time with new zeal
and vigour. And thus
next big question is if
their ‘efforts’ will bear
fruit or will ‘Pilot’ navi-
gate safely through the
dark clouds, as in the
past, and continue to re-
main PCC Chief with
support of Rahul Gan-
dhi.
Theninthoutcomeis,
due to ‘Pilot factor’ the
MLAs and specially
MLAs supporting Pilot,
will be more important
andrelevantinthecom-
ing days and the Gehlot
government will also
make its best efforts to
pacify them with at
least the desired post-
ings and transfers of
key officials in their re-
spective constituencies.
Some of them may be
compensated with
some political ap-
pointment or Cabinet
berth and some even
may be offered some
reasonable money.
Gehlot’s ‘political
management’ brigade
led by Dr Raghu Shar-
ma, Dr Mahesh Joshi,
Dharmendra Rathore
will have to be kept in
place by a ‘concerned’
Gehlot at least for the
coming few months.
Thesideeffectof this
luring or management
will be that Gehlot’s
‘good governance’
agenda and develop-
ment programmes will
take a back seat, at least
for the time being,
where a sizeable por-
tion of his time
willbeengaged
or wasted in ‘manag-
ing’ his own party
MLAs, most of whom
have won their elec-
tions with a popular
Gehlot brand.
The tenth outcome is
with the winning of
both Rajya Sabha seats
without any friction,
the first phase of ‘top-
pling game’ will be over
on June 19 evening, but
there is a strong possi-
bility of launching the
second phase of the
same ‘pull down’ cam-
paign after June 19, by
the ‘relevant forces’.
By guessing this
eventuality, a Gehlot
confidante and Chief
Whip Dr Mahesh
Joshi, in a statement
on Monday, has also
endorsed the idea of
a second ‘pull down’
exercise after June
19. He said, “Another
attempt could be made
but we will be alert.
There are several ma-
jor issues in poaching
incident and agencies
are investigating it. All
revelations will be
made after June 19.”
Gehlot’s ‘Trimurti’ needs to stay alert of disgruntled MLAs!
Jaipur: Even as the
Congress has housed
its MLAs at a private
resort ahead of Rajya
Sabha polls in Ra-
jasthan, opposition
BJP’s ally Rashtriya
Loktantrik Party
(RLP) has accused the
ruling party of ‘try-
ingtolureRLPMLAs’.
RLP led by Nagaur
MP Hanuman Beniwal
has three MLAs in the
Assembly, including
Beniwal’s brother. The
party had formed an al-
liance with BJP both in
the last Lok Sabha and
Assembly elections.
Speaking to the me-
dia, RLP state Presi-
dent Pukhraj Garg
said that the ruling
Congress had tried to
lure away the party
MLAs by lucrative
promises but the law-
makers had rejected
the same. “CM Ashok
Gehlot has this miscon-
ception that they can
mergeanypartyintothe
Congress, as was done
withtheBSPlawmakers.
However, the RLP has
been formed after doing
the ground work and we
did not fall into the Con-
gress’ trap,” he added.
All six MLAs of the
Bahujan Samaj Party in
Rajasthan had joined
the ruling Congress a
few months back.
Nagaur MP Hanu-
man Beniwal said that
their phones were be-
ing tapped which is not
a good sign for healthy
democracy. The meet-
ingwasheldatLeaderof

JAI HO!After all these years here is the real reason behind

ith the return of

United Kingdom,
the question
about Nicole
Scherzinger, one of the
judges of the show, has
made headlines again with
the question ‘What was the
REAL reason behind the
split of her and Lewis

The couple met back in
2007, and after an on-and-
off dating for a few years,
they split up in 2016, as
their relationship faced a
lot of problems since the
couple was in a long-dis-
tance relationship. Lewis
had also previously
mentioned that the re-
lationshipwas“tough
to hold down” be-
cause of the distance.
Later in 2017, Lewis
mentioned that they
had parted ways as
their relationship got
in the way for his love
of cars.
He said, “My cars
are my babies. I used to
say when I had a girl-
friend, ‘I’m taking one
of the girls out, so you
can come if you want,
but you come second
when it comes to the
cars.’”
Later when Nicole
was asked about the
same, she said, “I
don’t see anything
negative, I think it’s
quite natural
when people sep-
arate and go their
own ways and
you just have to
be adult about it
and just always
wish the other per-
son happiness, suc-
cess and love like sincerely
and I do.”
Nicole Scherzinger is an
American singer, actor,
dancer and songwriter,
and rose to fame as the lead
singer of the ‘Pussycat
Dolls’, one of the world’s
best-selling girl groups of
all time. Whereas, Lewis
Hamilton is a British rac-
ing driver, who had won
his first World Drivers’
Championship in 2008.
Scherzinger, the lead
singer of the Pussycat
Dolls, wrote the English
version of ‘Jai Ho! (You
Are My Destiny)’, the
song appeared on the re-
release of the group’s
second studio album
Doll Domination (2008).
Scherzinger was hesitant
at first, stating in an inter-
view that, “ I was scared
to death to touch it,
afraid for people to
hear it before I even
wrote it.”
Scherzinger put her
“heart into writing
the lyrics and put
in themes from the
film Slumdog Mil-
lionaire. Love
and destiny were
elements from
the movie that
she put into the
track”. She stat-
ed that she
“prayed every
night to do
this right.”

DEDICATION, PROFESSIONALISM

Mumbai: India’s largest
interior decoration compa-
ny, Mumbai based Narsi
Group has achieved yet an-
other feat and that also dur-
ing the real difficult times
of Covid-19 epidemic. Narsi
Group has successfully fin-
ished the complete interior
work of Pune based Cov-
id-19 Care Centre, run by
renowned Wipro Group.
Narsi Group under its
CMD, Narsi Kularia has
many feathers on its deco-
rated cap but this assign-
ment was a challenge in it-
self as the interior work of
the hospital was to be com-
pleted in 45 days which is a
tough task even during nor-
mal days. Completing it in
a stipulated period when
the coronavirus epidemic
was unleashing itself in
Maharashtra was a huge
challenge.
The situation was fur-
ther aggravated as all the
labour involved in the inte-
rior work had reverse mi-
grated to their homes thus
making the job an uphill
task. CMD, Narsi Kularaia
and Group Director, Jag-
dish Kularia took the job of
interior decoration of a 504
bedded COVID dedicated
hospital as a mission. They
both were aware of the
challenges like shortage of
labour, all markets closed
and no means of transport.
Another big challenge was
to maintain social distanc-
ing on the site, to keep the
labour safe from the infec-
tion, which would make the
progress of the work slow.
But Narsi and Jagdish Ku-
laria went ahead and fin-
ished the assigned job in-
cluding the completion of
ICUs and ventilators within
45 days. CEO Atish too
played an important role in
meeting the deadline. It was
the result of perfect leader-
ship under Narsi and Jag-
dish Kularia that their team
could perform and deliver
in total adverse conditions.
Maharashtra Chief Min-
ister, Uddhav Thakre digi-
tally inaugurated the dedi-
cated Covid-19 Care Centre,
while WIPRO CEO, Rishad
Premji and Senior Vice
President, Hariprasad
Hegde were present at the
centre. Narsi Group was fa-
cilitated during the func-
tion for its professionalism.
Senior VP Hariprasad
Hegde handed over an
appreciation letter to
Siddarth Sharma of the
Narsi Group for completing
the work of 504 bedded hos-
pital in a record time of
only 45 days.
It is noteworthy that the
largest interior decoration
group today, Narsi Group,
started its journey in 1986
with only 5 people which
now boasts of employing
thousands of workers work-
ing across the globe. CMD
Narsi Kularia attributed
the success to the dedica-
tion and professionalism of
his team which took the job
as a mission and ensured
that it was completed in 45
days as per the commit-
ment. Narsi Kularia said
that he was proud of every
member of his team who
has accomplished this dif-
ficult task in most adverse
and demanding conditions.
Narsi Kularia said that
there is a special satisfac-
tion in the hospital project
as it would serve humanity
when it needs attention and
care. Another point worth
mentioning is that Narsi
Group has been involved
with the Skill India scheme
for a good time now and has
successfully trained thou-
sands of young people by
paving way for them to get
employed.
Group Director, Jagdish
Kularia also credited the
success of the project to his
team members who worked
24x7 and made the working
site their home for the
whole period. He said, it is
hard work of such people,
which makes the Narsi
Group what it is today. Jag-
dish Kularia said he finds
himself to be lucky to have
led such a dedicated team.
Both Kularia brothers have
many dreams to make true
and are eagerly awaiting
for the corona crisis to pass
over so that they can con-
tinue their march towards
success which is carved out
of dedication, hard work
and professionalism with
compassion at the core of
every activity.

shot eight times by cops.
It was reported that
the cops were conducting a
narcotics investigation; how-
ever, no drugs were found at
her Louisville home. “Three
months have passed and zero
arrests have been made, and no
officers have been fired,” the
‘Crazy In Love’ singer wrote in
the letter. She further asked
Cameron to take concrete ac-
tion to prove that a black wom-

actress is gearing up for her up-

important view on life and
death. Reese Witherspoon
shared the same with her

revealing that she does

claimed she knows where
she’s going after death so it
doesn’t scare her.
Nicole recalled a time in
