The basis of new India is its
youth power. To empower
them, PM Modi is working
continuously. PM Modi
Ji’s directive to recruit 10
lakhs in a mission mode
in all government depart-
ments and ministries in 1.5
years will bring new hope
and confidence among the
youth. Thank you PM @
narendramodi ji for this. Rahul Gandhi @RahulGandhi
Just like 8 years ago, youths were promised
2 crore jobs every year, in the same way
now it is the turn of 10 lakh government jobs. This
is not a government of jumlas, it is a government of
‘maha jumlas’. The Prime Minister is not an expert in
creating jobs, but in making ‘News’ on jobs.

IN-DEPTH
A BOLD NEW PLAN
TO KEEP THE ARMED
FORCES FIGHTING
FIT AND YOUNGER
he new Agnipath re-
cruitment scheme
for the Army, Air
Force and the Navy
which was unveiled
Tuesday, does hold promise to
radically transform the forces
with the infusion of fresh blood
every four years. At the end of
four years a significant percent
of the troops will get a chance to
be retained for a longer period.
These soldiers will be called Ag-
niveers. The scheme offers at-
tractive incentives for the youth
and at the same time drastically
reduces the defence budget as
the recruits will not be eligible
for pension. The scheme will be
different from the Short Service
Commission which is meant for
recruiting only officers.
Some objections to the scheme
stem from the short service pe-
riod which may not be enough
for the assimilation of Agniveer
in the larger set-up, a major re-
quirement in the armed forces.
Some retired officers chose to
call them “tourist soldiers”
whose mind may be preoccupied
with life after four years, affect-
ing operational ethos.

Court and high
courts have writ-
ten a letter to the
Chief Justice of India NV Ra-
mana requesting him to take
suo motu cognizance of the
bulldozer justice being meted
out to protesters in Kanpur
and Prayagraj. Such letters
have lost their significance in
the prevailing scenario of
deep-seated biases, whether
political or communal.
To recall, in April a num-
ber of former bureaucrats
had written a letter to Prime
Minister Narendra Modi
drawing his attention to the
“politics of hate”. The PM did
not have to respond to that
letter as an equal number of
former bureaucrats, judges
and generals came together
to defend the Modi govern-
ment and questioned the mo-
tives of signatories to the let-
ter. The list of those defend-
ing the Central government
included eight judges.
This time around there
may be former judges of the
Supreme Court and high
courts who would probably
agree with the new system of
justice to silence the minori-
ties and curb democratic pro-
tests. If they also decide to
write to the CJI those in ur-
gent need of justice will have
to wait for delayed justice.
Provided they are left with
the means and the courage to
take on the system.
The letter has requested
for “suo motu cognizance”
which the courts could have
taken without being remind-
ed of it.
How would these judges
have reacted to a similar situ-
ation while they were in of-
fice? Probably, they would
have flowed with the tide.
Some of the innocent victims
must be wondering who will
protect their rights if the
courts don’t.

F
RS POLL RESULTS WILL
BOOST NDA PROSPECTS
‘PREZ’ WORTHY WIN
olitics is a game of strange
bedfellows. In rajneeti, it’s
not over till it’s over. The Saf-
fron party’s strength in
(state) assemblies suggested
that the party could retain
only 20 of the 24 Rajya Sabha
seats it held in the biennial
polls for 57 seats but as the
(electoral) process got over
and on Saturday it was real-
ised that the BJP finally won
22 and also ensured victory
of an Independent, underlin-
ing its masterstroke, pull
among unaffiliated legisla-
tors and disaffected lawmak-
ers obviously in the Opposi-
tion camp.
As it is said in cricket that
the match is not over till the
last ball is bowled, the BJP’s
better-than-expected show is
a boost to the ruling National
Democratic Alliance ahead
of the President’s poll, and is
an obvious blow to its rivals,
as the Rajya Sabha elections
have again highlighted dis-
sension and lack of cohesion
among the Opposition ranks.
The BJP’s ambitious ef-
forts to force a contest in
these states besides Ra-
jasthan by backing Independ-
ents or putting its own candi-
dates to benefit from division
in the ranks of its rivals have
paid dividends as it bagged
one extra seat each in all
states barring Rajasthan.
Astute politician and Con-
gress veteran and Rajasthan
Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot
not only managed to keep his
flock of its supporting MLAs
together but also embar-
rassed the BJP by wooing
over one of its MLAs to foil
the saffron party’s efforts to
get an independent, outgoing
MP and media baron Sub-
hash Chandra, elected.
BJP is obviously happy
with the outcome, especially
in Maharashtra where the
ruling Maha Vikas Aghadi
coalition of the Shiv Sena,
the NCP and the Congress
suffered a setback despite be-
ing at the helm of power with
the BJP bagging three of the
six seats at stake!
It is also a boost to BJP
leader and former chief min-
ister Devendra Fadnavis,
who has had his share of set-
backs since losing power in
the state as he who outsmart-
ed and checkmated the Shiv
Sena.
BJP also bagged three of
the four seats in Karnataka
as its rivals the Congress and
the JD(S) could not come to a
pact and fought separately
and thus lost.
Congress veteran Bhupin-
der Singh Hooda suffered a
blow as the party’s nominee
Ajay Maken lost, with one of
its MLAs, Kuldeep Bishnoi,
voting for the BJP-backed
independent Kartikeya
Sharma, also a media entre-
preneur, and the vote of an-
other MLA turning out to be
invalid.
LOSS OF FACE
FOR HOODA
Hooda failed in his first test
after getting complete con-
trol of the party after the re-
centoverhaulingof Congress
but also in ensuring that all
legislators’ votes were cast
properly; while the cross-
voting by Kuldeep Bishnoi, a
known Hooda detractor, was
a clear writing on the wall,
another Congress vote was
also found to be invalid that
led to Maken’s defeat.
THE BISHNOI FACTOR
Even as the visibly annoyed
Congress high command has
expelled Bishnoi from all the
party posts for his cross-vot-
ing and now if he pulls the
plug on the party… it would
not only dent the Grand Old
Party’s non-Jat vote-bank in
Haryana but also make
things hugely difficult for
Hooda within the party
. Bish-
noi, a four-time MLA and
two-time MP, is younger son
of former Congress chief
minister late Bhajan Lal who
is till date the tallest non-Jat
leader of the state who was
Haryana CM for three times
and also Union minister.
Ahead of the presidential
poll, which is scheduled for
July 18 if more than one per-
son is in fray
, the Rajya Sabha
results are a morale booster
to the ruling combine.
In an electoral college of
around 10.86 lakh votes, the
BJP-led alliance is estimated
to have more than 48 per cent
of votes and is hopeful that
non-aligned regional parties
like YSR Congress and the
BJD will now support it.
MAMATA’S FRESH BID
Meanwhile, TMC chief
Mamata Banerjee has invited
leaders of 19 political parties
on June 15 to discuss the up-
coming presidential election.
Mamata said the election
gives the “perfect opportuni-
ty for all progressive opposi-
tion parties” to discuss the
future course of Indian poli-
tics. “At a time when our de-
mocracy is going through
troubling times, I believe that
a fruitful confluence of oppo-
sition voices is the need of
the hour,” she added.
Banerjee addressed the let-
ter to Congress chief Sonia
Gandhi, Shiv Sena’s Uddhav
Thackeray, Aam Aadmi Par-
ty’s Arvind Kejriwal and
Bhagwant Mann and Com-
munist Party of India (Marx-
ist) leader Pinarayi Vijayan.
Her attempt is seen as a
move to expand TMC’s na-
tional footprint after the par-
ty’s massive win in the cru-
cial 2021 Assembly elections.

INDIA IS ETERNAL AS IT IS LAND OF SAINTS:PM MODI
Pune (ANI): High-
lighting country’s cul-

Minister Narendra
Modi on Tuesday said
India is eternal as it is
the land of saints.
PM on Tuesday inau-
gurated Jagatguru
Shrisant Tukaram Ma-
haraj Temple in Dehu,
Pune. “We are proud to
be one of the oldest liv-
ing civilizations in
world. If the credit for
this goes to anyone, it
is to the saint tradition
and the sages of India.
India is eternal be-
cause it is the land of
saints. In every era,
some great soul has
been descending to
give direction to our
country and society.
Today the nation is cel-
ebrating the birth an-
niversary of Sant Ka-

during his address on
the occasion.
He said Dehu’s Shila
Mandir is not only a
centre of power of de-
votion but also paves
the way for the cultural
future of India.
PM Modi further
said, “Saints like Tu-
karam played a very

life of a national hero
like Chhatrapati Shiva-
ji Maharaj. When Veer
Savarkarwaspunished
in the freedom strug-
gle, he used to sing the

cuffs like chipli in jail.”
He called for carry-
ing forward the cultur-

“To strengthen our
national unity, today it
is our responsibility to
keep our ancient iden-
tity and traditions
alive. Therefore, today
when modern technol-

are becoming synony-

Prime Minister.

New Delhi: TheBJPhas
authorized party nation-
al president JP Nadda
and Defense Minister Ra-
jnath Singh to hold talks
withalliesandopposition
parties ahead of the pres-
idential election which is
kind of a formality. Be-
fore the election for the
highest constitutional
post, it is the responsibil-
ity of the ruling party to
talk to all the parties and
try to build a consensus.
However,inthehistoryof
independent India, there
has never been a consen-
sus in the election of the
President except at one
point. Every time the
election is hotly contest-
ed and this time also the
same will be repeated be-
cause Cong and other op-
positionpartieshavealso
started their prepara-
tions. Therefore, it is cer-
tain that no consensus
will be reached with the
opposition.
Asfarasalliesarecon-
cerned, there is only a
formality to make them
agree. The position of
any BJP ally is not such
that they would question
the candidate chosen by
it. The allies will neces-
sarily agree with who-
ever BJP fields. Anyway
,
most of the allies of the
BJP have left and the few
parties that are left also
do not have many votes.
The BJP has 42 per cent
of the votes in the Elec-
toral College that elects
the President and its al-
lies have six per cent of
the total votes. These six
per cent votes are con-
firmed. Before that, once
both the leaders of BJP
have to talk to the allies.
Anyway, there is good-
will of all the allies and
opposition parties to-
wardsRajnathSinghand
it is believed that he will
easily negotiate with all
theparties.Notably
,even
after adding six per cent
votes of BJP allies with
the saffron party’s 42,
thereisashortfallof two
percentorabout20thou-
sand votes. For this, the
BJP has the support of
Biju Janata Dal and YSR
Reddy
. The additional
vote required by the BJP
tomakeitscandidatewin
is almost double that of
Jagan Mohan Reddy’s
party YSR Cong alone,
which is close to 40 thou-
sand.
PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION: BJP’S

Pawar pulls out of presidential
race, rejects Mamata’s offer
Banerjee’s decision has, however, come in for sharp criticism by the Left, a TMC adversary in WB
New Delhi (PTI): Lead-
ers of some major politi-
cal parties held hectic
parleys on Tuesday
ahead of a meeting
called by WB CM Mama-
ta Banerjee to forge a
consensus for fielding a
joint candidate against
the NDA in the presiden-
tial election, a move that
has exposed the fault
lines within the opposi-
tion. Banerjee, the Tri-
namool Congress supre-
mo, and leaders of two
Left parties met NCP
chief Sharad Pawar at
his residence separately
to try and convince him
to be the common oppo-
sition candidate for the
top constitutional post.
The Maratha strong-
man, who has friends
across the deeply divid-
ed political spectrum,
however, turned down
the proposal, sources in
opposition camp said.
Banerjee is in the na-
tional capital for the
meeting she has con-
vened on Wednesday to
explore the possibility
of formulating a com-
mon strategy with other
opposition parties for
the presidential poll
where the BJP-led NDA
has an unmistakable
edge given its strength
in Parliament and state
and union territory as-
semblies.

lice on Tuesday used
force to disperse the
crowd that sat on a pro-
test and blocked Kota-
Jaipur National High-

removal of illegal Bajri
Naka at Basoli Mod in
Bundi. Former BJP
MLA Prahlad Gunjal
and BJP Leader Rupesh
Sharma were among
those who staged a pro-
test on NH52.
“The police action
took place around 3:30
am on Tuesday when
the protestors were
sleeping on the road.
More than fifty workers
were injured in the po-
lice lathi-charge, while
two of them are admit-
ted to Kota medical col-
lege. Police took me and
Rupesh Sharma to Kota

Gunjal. Meanwhile,
Bundi SP Jai Yadav re-
futed the claims of

had an addiction to online games which made him
lose around Rs 30 lakh. Depressed over losing so
much money, he allegedly jumped into Kaylana Lake
and committed suicide,” the local police informed
the media. The body was fished out.
Jaipur: The junior engineers of the 3 power compa-

Tuesday, demanding removal of pay discrepancy.
Many works related to the public have started get-
ting stuck. On the other hand, from the assistant

the situation from power generation to supply. Under
the banner of Power Engineers Association of Ra-
jasthan, the engineers from different districts of the
state are on a Mahapadav in a garden at Jagatpura.
Rahul Verma, general secretary, said that stir will not
end until they get a written reply to their demands.

Camps before
June 20 for
transfer of
teachers
Jaipur: Like every time,
camps will be held in
Jaipur for transfer of
teachers. Due to non-for-
mulation of transfer
policy, a general guide-
line is being decided, on
the basis of which an ex-
ercise will be done to
transfer thousands of
teachers. The biggest ba-
sis for transfer will be
desire of Congress or
pro-government MLAs.
If everything goes well,
this camp will start in
Jaipur before June 20.
There is still doubt about
transfer of Grade 3 teach-
ers and govt may face
displeasure of MLAs.

z You are the Chief
Minister
, yet you aren’t
being allowed to go?
We are witnessing for
the first time that they
are indulging in detain-
ing in police stations,
whereas there is no ob-
jection in meeting. Its
for the first time in Del-
hi that if anyone comes
from outside in sup-
port, they are being
stopped on the way. I
have heard that they are
taking people to places
unheard of. Dotasra ji,
the President of Ra-
jasthan Congress, was
telling that he didn’t
know where they took
him away from police
station! I don’t know
whether there is an or-
der from above to cops.
It seems that they want
to co-operate too, but
have to follow orders. It
happens that they
aren’t able to do any-
thing, otherwise, what
is the problem in join-
ing? We would have
gone back after meet-
ing? What can be their
objection to meeting,
this is beyond compre-
hension. We have been
barred from entering
our own Party HQs
also. Moreover, we have
been banned to enter
AICC office What’s hap-
pening in this country?
We are repeatedly say-
ing that democracy is
being murdered. Notic-
es are being given to
Rahul Gandhi ji, Sonia
ji. There are raids all
over the country of In-
come Tax, ED, CBI.
Those who are protest-
ing peacefully, there is
no violence when vio-
lence is not happening,
everyone is doing it in
Gandhian way, then the
Delhi administration,
Delhi Police, the Union
Home Ministry should
cooperate more since
the right to protest
peacefully in this way
belongs to opposition,
we are using it, what is
the point of stopping it?
This is beyond compre-
hension. If this is
stopped then the public
will answer it when the
time comes, I believe.

z Bhupesh Baghel
was also not allowed
to go?
Baghelsahibhasbeen
stopped on the way near
Apollo Hospital, Mukul
Wasnik ji has been de-
tained there, so it is in-
comprehensible that if
they want to go and
merely meet, then it is
beyond comprehension
that why are they being
stopped.

z But you went yester-
day, and were allowed
to meet?
We met yesterday,
there was no problem.
When there is no vio-
lence, everything is hap-
pening peacefully, then
what is the problem?

z Today the Union
Government has
brought a new rule of
recruitment in the
Army. How are you
seeing it?
Who will be that
young man? Will it be an
RSS worker, a BJP work-
er or who will it be? This
is something to be seen.
For 4 years you will be
teaching weapons, you
talked about 2 crore peo-
ple, they don’t have the
answer for employment.
Unemployment is at its
peak, people are trou-
bled sitting in their
houses and now they
have brought this. Now
time will tell what is
their approach.

Jaipur: Politics is also
intensifying in Ra-

Presidential elections.
Former CM Bhairon
Singh Shekhawat had
held the post of Vice
-President and he also
contested for the Presi-
dent post but lost the
election to Pratibha Pa-
til, who also belongs to
Rajasthan. This time,
the Rajya Sabha elec-
tions have put the BJP
in loss from Rajasthan,
but the BJP or the NDA
on the strong pitch.
After Shekhawat,
there is currently no big
personality in BJP who
can be fielded in the
Presidential elections.
Despite this, the tribal
names from Rajasthan
that are doing rounds
from Rajasthan are of
Banswara-Dungarpur
MP Kanakmal Katara
and BJP MLA from Jh-
adol Babu Lal Kharadi.
Both belong to the
Sangh background,
Kharadi comes from a
simple family and was
recently elected as the
‘Best MLA’ in the Vid-
han Sabha.
Voting will take place
on July 18 counting
will be held on July 21.
The ruling BJP-led NDA
has a little less than half
of the total 10.79 lakh
votes i.e. 5,26,420.
It needs cooperation
of YSR Congress Biju

Jaipur: The Rajasthan
Housing Board (RHB) is
bringing the multi-sto-
reyed residential NRI
Sky Park scheme in Sec-
tor-24 of Pratap Nagar
area of Jaipur on a
piece of land fully
owned by the Board.
Notably, the Board is
fully capable and free to
bring this scheme on a
land of its own. There-
fore, the objection being
raised by any means in
this regard, is baseless
and unwarranted.
Deputy Housing
Commissioner Circle
1st KC Dhaka informed
that adequate facilities
have been provided by
RHB for Raj Angan
Scheme (NRI Colony).
He said that the people
living in Raj Angan
Scheme do not have any
existing right on this
land. “The flats that will
be built under the NRI
Sky Park scheme will
be different from the
Raj Angan scheme.
Also, the people living
in these flats will not be
allowed to interfere in
the Raj Angan Scheme
or have unauthorised
entry there. The entry
way for the NRI Sky
Park scheme will be
through Kumbha Marg.
The Board has also reg-
istered the self-financed
NRI Sky Park Housing
Scheme in RERA and
the process of applica-
tion is going on from
June 10- to July 11,
2022,” he said.
It is worth mention-
ing that the Rajasthan
Housing Board under
the Raj Angan Scheme
includes roads, street

children’s park, club,
PHED campus, drink-
ing water supply from

You’re the PM, don’t let ED treat people like this

them,”Gehlotsaidwhile

.
Gehlot said, “ED in-
terrogated Rahul Gan-
dhi till 12 o’clock in the
night. Which crime was
committed or which bil-
lions and trillions of
rupees were laundered?
Where there is money
laundering of billions
of rupees happening,
ED doesn’t look there. I
would like to say to
Modi, God has given
you a chance to become
the PM. You are the PM
of the country
. Don’t get
people treated like this
by CBI, ED, Income Tax.
Otherwise country
won’t spare you either.”
Gehlot claimed that
an atmosphere of vio-
lence is being created in
country and the whole
country is watching
their (BJP’s) antics.
“Their arrogance is not
going to work. There is
an atmosphere of vio-
lence in nation. Infla-
tion is increasing. For
how long will you keep
fighting polls in name
of religion? This ploy
of their is sailing them
through elections, so
they have become arro-
gant,” he asked.
The CM stressed that
questions raised by Ra-
hul Gandhi so far
haven’t been answered
by Centre. “China occu-
pied our border. The
countries of world
know that our border
has been occupied, but
the Centre never re-
sponded to it. Today
they are forwarding the
ED in every case. Every-
one knows that there is
no merit in this case.
The National Herald
has been the newspaper
of the Congress since
1937. It is a non profit
company, no director
can take one rupee from
this company for per-
sonal work. Where then
did the money launder-
ing happen and ED
came into the picture?
In this way, there are
many non profit compa-
nies all over the coun-
try that are also work-
ing as an NGO,” Gehlot
said, further adding,
“Tomorrow ED will en-
ter every NGO. Nation-
al Herald was started by
Motilal Nehru with the
help of 5,000 Freedom
Fighters. Congress
helped when this news-
paper came into trou-
ble. Shares were trans-
ferred when Congress
helped, all that is on
record. The case was
closed by ED in 2015, the
case has been opened
again.”

Editor-In-Chief: Dr Jagdeesh Chandra Editor: Anita Hada Sangwan responsible for selection of news under the PRB Act Jagat Prakash Nadda @JPNadda The gov. under the leadership of Hon. PM @narendramodi ji has announced the ‘Agnipath’ scheme allowing our youth to serve in the military forces for a certain duration. This’ll help our youth to instil discipline in themselves and to help the nation effectively.#BharatKeAgniveer Ashwini Vaishnaw @AshwiniVaishnaw Thanks to PM @narendramodi Ji for ensuring participation of youth in nation building and providing them opportunity to serve in the Indian Armed Forces. SPIRITUAL SPEAK Perform your obligatory duty, because action is indeed better than inaction. —Bhagavad Gita IN-DEPTH A BOLD NEW PLAN TO KEEP THE ARMED FORCES FIGHTING FIT AND YOUNGER he new Agnipath re- cruitment scheme for the Army, Air Force and the Navy which was unveiled Tuesday, does hold promise to radically transform the forces with the infusion of fresh blood every four years. At the end of four years a significant percent of the troops will get a chance to be retained for a longer period. These soldiers will be called Ag- niveers. The scheme offers at- tractive incentives for the youth and at the same time drastically reduces the defence budget as the recruits will not be eligible for pension. The scheme will be different from the Short Service Commission which is meant for recruiting only officers. Some objections to the scheme stem from the short service pe- riod which may not be enough for the assimilation of Agniveer in the larger set-up, a major re- quirement in the armed forces. Some retired officers chose to call them “tourist soldiers” whose mind may be preoccupied with life after four years, affect- ing operational ethos. TOP TWEETS T ormer judges of the Supreme Court and high courts have writ- ten a letter to the Chief Justice of India NV Ra- mana requesting him to take suo motu cognizance of the bulldozer justice being meted out to protesters in Kanpur and Prayagraj. Such letters have lost their significance in the prevailing scenario of deep-seated biases, whether political or communal. To recall, in April a num- ber of former bureaucrats had written a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi drawing his attention to the “politics of hate”. The PM did not have to respond to that letter as an equal number of former bureaucrats, judges and generals came together to defend the Modi govern- ment and questioned the mo- tives of signatories to the let- ter. The list of those defend- ing the Central government included eight judges. This time around there may be former judges of the Supreme Court and high courts who would probably agree with the new system of justice to silence the minori- ties and curb democratic pro- tests. If they also decide to write to the CJI those in ur- gent need of justice will have to wait for delayed justice. Provided they are left with the means and the courage to take on the system. The letter has requested for “suo motu cognizance” which the courts could have taken without being remind- ed of it. How would these judges have reacted to a similar situ- ation while they were in of- fice? Probably, they would have flowed with the tide. Some of the innocent victims must be wondering who will protect their rights if the courts don’t. A LETTER TO CJI BUT TO WHAT AVAIL Former judges of the Supreme Court and HCs have written a letter to the Chief Justice of India NV Ramana requesting him to take suo motu cognizance of the bulldozer justice being meted out to protesters in Kanpur and Prayagraj F RS POLL RESULTS WILL BOOST NDA PROSPECTS ‘PREZ’ WORTHY WIN olitics is a game of strange bedfellows. In rajneeti, it’s not over till it’s over. The Saf- fron party’s strength in (state) assemblies suggested that the party could retain only 20 of the 24 Rajya Sabha seats it held in the biennial polls for 57 seats but as the (electoral) process got over and on Saturday it was real- ised that the BJP finally won 22 and also ensured victory of an Independent, underlin- ing its masterstroke, pull among unaffiliated legisla- tors and disaffected lawmak- ers obviously in the Opposi- tion camp. As it is said in cricket that the match is not over till the last ball is bowled, the BJP’s better-than-expected show is a boost to the ruling National Democratic Alliance ahead of the President’s poll, and is an obvious blow to its rivals, as the Rajya Sabha elections have again highlighted dis- sension and lack of cohesion among the Opposition ranks. The BJP’s ambitious ef- forts to force a contest in these states besides Ra- jasthan by backing Independ- ents or putting its own candi- dates to benefit from division in the ranks of its rivals have paid dividends as it bagged one extra seat each in all states barring Rajasthan. Astute politician and Con- gress veteran and Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot not only managed to keep his flock of its supporting MLAs together but also embar- rassed the BJP by wooing over one of its MLAs to foil the saffron party’s efforts to get an independent, outgoing MP and media baron Sub- hash Chandra, elected. BJP is obviously happy with the outcome, especially in Maharashtra where the ruling Maha Vikas Aghadi coalition of the Shiv Sena, the NCP and the Congress suffered a setback despite be- ing at the helm of power with the BJP bagging three of the six seats at stake! It is also a boost to BJP leader and former chief min- ister Devendra Fadnavis, who has had his share of set- backs since losing power in the state as he who outsmart- ed and checkmated the Shiv Sena. BJP also bagged three of the four seats in Karnataka as its rivals the Congress and the JD(S) could not come to a pact and fought separately and thus lost. Congress veteran Bhupin- der Singh Hooda suffered a blow as the party’s nominee Ajay Maken lost, with one of its MLAs, Kuldeep Bishnoi, voting for the BJP-backed independent Kartikeya Sharma, also a media entre- preneur, and the vote of an- other MLA turning out to be invalid. LOSS OF FACE FOR HOODA Hooda failed in his first test after getting complete con- trol of the party after the re- centoverhaulingof Congress but also in ensuring that all legislators’ votes were cast properly; while the cross- voting by Kuldeep Bishnoi, a known Hooda detractor, was a clear writing on the wall, another Congress vote was also found to be invalid that led to Maken’s defeat. THE BISHNOI FACTOR Even as the visibly annoyed Congress high command has expelled Bishnoi from all the party posts for his cross-vot- ing and now if he pulls the plug on the party… it would not only dent the Grand Old Party’s non-Jat vote-bank in Haryana but also make things hugely difficult for Hooda within the party . Bish- noi, a four-time MLA and two-time MP, is younger son of former Congress chief minister late Bhajan Lal who is till date the tallest non-Jat leader of the state who was Haryana CM for three times and also Union minister. Ahead of the presidential poll, which is scheduled for July 18 if more than one per- son is in fray , the Rajya Sabha results are a morale booster to the ruling combine. In an electoral college of around 10.86 lakh votes, the BJP-led alliance is estimated to have more than 48 per cent of votes and is hopeful that non-aligned regional parties like YSR Congress and the BJD will now support it. MAMATA’S FRESH BID Meanwhile, TMC chief Mamata Banerjee has invited leaders of 19 political parties on June 15 to discuss the up- coming presidential election. Mamata said the election gives the “perfect opportuni- ty for all progressive opposi- tion parties” to discuss the future course of Indian poli- tics. “At a time when our de- mocracy is going through troubling times, I believe that a fruitful confluence of oppo- sition voices is the need of the hour,” she added. Banerjee addressed the let- ter to Congress chief Sonia Gandhi, Shiv Sena’s Uddhav Thackeray, Aam Aadmi Par- ty’s Arvind Kejriwal and Bhagwant Mann and Com- munist Party of India (Marx- ist) leader Pinarayi Vijayan. Her attempt is seen as a move to expand TMC’s na- tional footprint after the par- ty’s massive win in the cru- cial 2021 Assembly elections.  THE VIEWS EXPRESSED BY THE AUTHOR ARE PERSONAL P THE MATHEMATICS With one Independent MLA’s absence and one rejected vote of Congress, the House had 88 votes with each vote having a value of 100 Since a candidate required 2,934 votes to win, BJP’s Krishan Panwar won with 3,600 votes while Maken got, 2,900 However, with the help of votes of BJP coalition part- ner Jannayak Janta Party (JJP), Independents, one each of Kuldeep Bishnoi, Haryana Lokhit Party (HLP), Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) and the remaining votes of Panwar, Independ- ent candidate Kartikeya Sharma’s votes value was finally pegged at 2300 Mamata said the election gives the “perfect opportunity for all progressive opposition parties” to discuss the future course of Indian politics. “At a time when our democracy is going through troubling times, I believe that a fruitful confluence of opposition voices is the need of the hour,” she added. Banerjee addressed the letter to Congress chief Sonia Gandhi, Shiv Sena’s Uddhav Thackeray, AAP’s Arvind Kejriwal and Bhagwant Mann and Communist Party of India (Marxist) leader Pinarayi Vijayan. M Sharma New Delhi:By-elections are being held for Del- hi’s Rajender Nagar as- sembly seat as seat fell vacant after resignation of AAP’s Raghav Chad- ha. AAP has fielded Durgesh Pathak as its candidate for this seat while BJP has fielded Rajesh Bhatia in poll. The name of thepartyworkerorlead- er who appealed to vote for the AAP candidate is written on the hoarding but the name of the can- didate is completely missing. Rather, a face with folded hands with an appeal, “Vote for Ke- jriwal once again”, has been made. What kind of politics is this? It seems that the AAP has made all MLAs leaders ‘formless’ and there is only one name i.e. Kejriwal. BJP also does politics in name of Modi and there too most of the faces are form- less, yet it is not in such a way that party does not reveal name of the candidate. He said Dehu’s Shila Mandir is not only a centre of power of de- votion but also paves the way for the cultural future of India. PM Modi further said, “Saints like Tu- karam played a very important role in the life of a national hero like Chhatrapati Shiva- ji Maharaj. Be- fore the election for the highest constitutional post, it is the responsibil- ity of the ruling party to talk to all the parties and try to build a consensus. However, inthehistoryof independent India, there has never been a consen- sus in the election of the President except at one point. Every time the election is hotly contest- ed and this time also the same will be repeated be- cause Cong and other op- positionpartieshavealso started their prepara- tions. Therefore, it is cer- tain that no consensus will be reached with the opposition. Asfarasalliesarecon- cerned, there is only a formality to make them agree. The position of any BJP ally is not such that they would question the candidate chosen by it. The allies will neces- sarily agree with who- ever BJP fields. Anyway , most of the allies of the BJP have left and the few parties that are left also do not have many votes. The BJP has 42 per cent of the votes in the Elec- toral College that elects the President and its al- lies have six per cent of the total votes. These six per cent votes are con- firmed. Before that, once both the leaders of BJP have to talk to the allies. Anyway, there is good- will of all the allies and opposition parties to- wardsRajnathSinghand it is believed that he will easily negotiate with all theparties.Notably ,even after adding six per cent votes of BJP allies with the saffron party’s 42, thereisashortfallof two percentorabout20thou- sand votes. The highest ideal is to bring people of all races, religious and political convictions together in peace. —Dr Jagdeesh Chandra, CEO Editor-in-Chief, First India JAIPUR | WEDNESDAY, JUNE 15, 2022 www.firstindia.co.in I https://firstindia.co.in/epapers/jaipur I twitter.com/thefirstindia I facebook.com/thefirstindia I instagram.com/thefirstindia 08 2NDFRONT POSTAL REG NO. JPC/004/2022-24 Aditi Nagar z You are the Chief Minister , yet you aren’t being allowed to go? We are witnessing for the first time that they are indulging in detain- ing in police stations, whereas there is no ob- jection in meeting. Its for the first time in Del- hi that if anyone comes from outside in sup- port, they are being stopped on the way. I have heard that they are taking people to places unheard of. Dotasra ji, the President of Ra- jasthan Congress, was telling that he didn’t know where they took him away from police station! I don’t know whether there is an or- der from above to cops. It seems that they want to co-operate too, but have to follow orders. It happens that they aren’t able to do any- thing, otherwise, what is the problem in join- ing? We would have gone back after meet- ing? What can be their objection to meeting, this is beyond compre- hension. We have been barred from entering our own Party HQs also. Moreover, we have been banned to enter AICC office What’s hap- pening in this country? We are repeatedly say- ing that democracy is being murdered. Notic- es are being given to Rahul Gandhi ji, Sonia ji. There are raids all over the country of In- come Tax, ED, CBI. Those who are protest- ing peacefully, there is no violence when vio- lence is not happening, everyone is doing it in Gandhian way, then the Delhi administration, Delhi Police, the Union Home Ministry should cooperate more since the right to protest peacefully in this way belongs to opposition, we are using it, what is the point of stopping it? This is beyond compre- hension. If this is stopped then the public will answer it when the time comes, I believe. z Bhupesh Baghel was also not allowed to go? Baghelsahibhasbeen stopped on the way near Apollo Hospital, Mukul Wasnik ji has been de- tained there, so it is in- comprehensible that if they want to go and merely meet, then it is beyond comprehension that why are they being stopped. z But you went yester- day, and were allowed to meet? We met yesterday, there was no problem. When there is no vio- lence, everything is hap- pening peacefully, then what is the problem? z Today the Union Government has brought a new rule of recruitment in the Army. How are you seeing it? Who will be that young man? Will it be an RSS worker, a BJP work- er or who will it be? This is something to be seen. For 4 years you will be teaching weapons, you talked about 2 crore peo- ple, they don’t have the answer for employment. Unemployment is at its peak, people are trou- bled sitting in their houses and now they have brought this. Now time will tell what is their approach. Peaceful protest Opposition’s right, what is the point of stopping us: Gehlot Two Raj tribal leaders under consideration Yogesh Sharma Jaipur: Politics is also intensifying in Ra- jasthan regarding the Presidential elections. Former CM Bhairon Singh Shekhawat had held the post of Vice -President and he also contested for the Presi- dent post but lost the election to Pratibha Pa- til, who also belongs to Rajasthan. This time, the Rajya Sabha elec- tions have put the BJP in loss from Rajasthan, but the BJP or the NDA on the strong pitch. After Shekhawat, there is currently no big personality in BJP who can be fielded in the Presidential elections. Despite this, the tribal names from Rajasthan that are doing rounds from Rajasthan are of Banswara-Dungarpur MP Kanakmal Katara and BJP MLA from Jh- adol Babu Lal Kharadi. Both belong to the Sangh background, Kharadi comes from a simple family and was recently elected as the ‘Best MLA’ in the Vid- han Sabha. Voting will take place on July 18 counting will be held on July 21. The ruling BJP-led NDA has a little less than half of the total 10.79 lakh votes i.e. 5,26,420. It needs cooperation of YSR Congress Biju Janata Dal. PM Modi has to take final deci- sion regarding presi- dential candidate but Saffron Party will need the cooperation of these two regional parties. Dotasra: Time has come to remove these oppressors from power in 2024 Police stopped us took us along at a place near Vasantkunj police stn: Dotasra Cong has nothing to hide in this episode, but opponents are being defamed: Pilot Flat owners will not be allowed to interfere in the Raj Angan Scheme Ashvini Yadav/ Shivendra Parmar New Delhi: PCC Chief Govind Singh Dotasra, who was heading for Delhi in support of Ra- hul Gandhi, was stopped by Delhi’s Vas- ant Kunj Police at the border on Tuesday . The police kept Dotasra un- der guard till evening at an unknown place and was later allowed to go, after which he could leave for AICC. Do- tasara said, “People of Rajasthan aren’t being allowed to move in Del- hi. The entire nation is watching the way Ra- hul Gandhi is being treated,” he said. He added, “While en- route to Delhi, we were stopped at the border and told to consider it to be a day of emergency . I was told that orders were given not to allow me to enter Delhi. Police stopped us and took us along in vehicles and kept us under police guard at an unknown place near Vasantkunj police station. Such a ruthless government is committingmoreatroci- ties than the British thus, its elimination is necessary . I would like to appeal to all Congress workers that the time has come and such op- pressors have to be re- moved from power in 2024. Rahul Gandhi is neither scared nor de- moralised.Truthalways prevails. The conspira- cy of BJP Modi will surely be defeated,” he said. Meanwhile, former Dy CM Sachin Pilot, along with his support- ers, was also stopped in Delhi from taking out peace march. Interact- ing with media, Pilot said, “We tried to take out a peace march through Gandhian ways, but permission was denied. How agen- cies are being misused is fully known to all of us. Somewhere politics is going on to pressurise political opponents. Congress has nothing to hide in this episode, but an atmosphere is being created to defame oppo- nents. Congress has al- ways adopted Gandhian path will continue to do so.” UDH Minister Shanti Dhariwal said that If innocent people are harassed like this, not only Congress work- ers, but also the public will rise up and give a befitting reply . Sachin Pilot @SachinPilot Dharmendra Rathore @DRathore_INC In front of the high spirits of Shri @Rahul- Gandhi ji and Congress party, the BJP govern- ment is in a shock, but we are neither going to be afraid nor will we bow down. This arro- gance and dictatorship of BJP will be shattered. First India Bureau Jaipur: UDH Minister Shanti Dhariwal, who recently expressed dis- pleasure over the offic- ers and employees of RSS back- ground, in a C a b i n e t meeting, on T u e s d a y, said that the people of RSS have been sitting on the same seat for years and doing wrong things. Addressing the media at the PCC office on Tuesday, Dhariwal said that action would be taken to remove such people. “We aren’t saying to raid anyone’s place or arrest anyone. But transfer is a normal process, so the wrong- doers will be removed,” he said. Dhariwal had asked Education Minis- ter Dr BD Kalla to re- move such officers from Education Department. RSS wrongdoers will be removed: Shanti Dhariwal Shivendra Parmar Jaipur: The Rajasthan Housing Board (RHB) is bringing the multi-sto- reyed residential NRI Sky Park scheme in Sec- tor-24 of Pratap Nagar area of Jaipur on a piece of land fully owned by the Board. Notably, the Board is fully capable and free to bring this scheme on a land of its own. There- fore, the objection being raised by any means in this regard, is baseless and unwarranted. Deputy Housing Commissioner Circle 1st KC Dhaka informed that adequate facilities have been provided by RHB for Raj Angan Scheme (NRI Colony). He said that the people living in Raj Angan Scheme do not have any existing right on this land. “The flats that will be built under the NRI Sky Park scheme will be different from the Raj Angan scheme. Also, the people living in these flats will not be allowed to interfere in the Raj Angan Scheme or have unauthorised entry there. The entry way for the NRI Sky Park scheme will be through Kumbha Marg. The Board has also reg- istered the self-financed NRI Sky Park Housing Scheme in RERA and the process of applica- tion is going on from June 10- to July 11, 2022,” he said. It is worth mention- ing that the Rajasthan Housing Board under the Raj Angan Scheme includes roads, street lights, central park, children’s park, club, PHED campus, drink- ing water supply from Bisalpur, water from STP for central park, small shops for daily needs, garbage collec- tion, school other in- stitutions and facilities. RHB brings NRI Sky Park Scheme on own land, terms‘objections’ inapt You’re the PM, don’t let ED treat people like this or nation won’t spare you: Gehlot warns Modi From PG1… They all have openly looted. These people do not pay attention on them,”Gehlotsaidwhile interacting with media in Delhi on Tuesday . Gehlot said, “ED in- terrogated Rahul Gan- dhi till 12 o’clock in the night. Which crime was committed or which bil- lions and trillions of rupees were laundered? Where there is money laundering of billions of rupees happening, ED doesn’t look there. I would like to say to Modi, God has given you a chance to become the PM. You are the PM of the country . Don’t get people treated like this by CBI, ED, Income Tax. Otherwise country won’t spare you either.” Gehlot claimed that an atmosphere of vio- lence is being created in country and the whole country is watching their (BJP’s) antics. “Their arrogance is not going to work. There is an atmosphere of vio- lence in nation. Infla- tion is increasing. For how long will you keep fighting polls in name of religion? This ploy of their is sailing them through elections, so they have become arro- gant,” he asked. The CM stressed that questions raised by Ra- hul Gandhi so far haven’t been answered by Centre. “China occu- pied our border. The countries of world know that our border has been occupied, but the Centre never re- sponded to it. Today they are forwarding the ED in every case. Every- one knows that there is no merit in this case. The National Herald has been the newspaper of the Congress since 1937. It is a non profit company, no director can take one rupee from this company for per- sonal work. Where then did the money launder- ing happen and ED came into the picture? In this way, there are many non profit compa- nies all over the coun- try that are also work- ing as an NGO,” Gehlot said, further adding, “Tomorrow ED will en- ter every NGO. Nation- al Herald was started by Motilal Nehru with the help of 5,000 Freedom Fighters. Congress helped when this news- paper came into trou- ble. Shares were trans- ferred when Congress helped, all that is on record. The case was closed by ED in 2015, the case has been opened again.” GOVIND SINGH DOTASRA@GOVINDDOTASRA There is an undeclared emergency like situation in the country, entry to Delhi is being stopped.
