Personal statement
A highly motivated and hardworking individual, who has recently completed their GCSEs along with their AS-
Levels so that I may progress my work further. Stayed at King Solomon High School to finish my AS and A -
levels, but have also moved colleges to continue working on even more courses.Seeking a part time position
(which may turn permanent) during summertime and school hours to keep motivated and proactive. I have
worked in numerous jobs in the past that have required the group to work togetheras intellectual individuals and
do their job, which is why, no matter who I would be with, I would be happy to work well with any individuals.
During my time in media, I have learned numerous skills that can help me within the media industry,such as
camera techniques,how to use a camera and especially editing skills which I used throughout my group's work
as the main editor. I thoroughly enjoy writing, and have a great interest in journalism, and I believe that helps
carry over with my interest of media, as I tend to enjoy writing storyboards and screenplays forthe units I study,
and helps me bring out my creative side, no matter what the story may be. I’m a very hardworking and open-
minded individual, who when set a task, will put hard work into it no matter what, and my interest in editing and
working within groups has allowed me to be very open to change,whether it be the change of the ideas within
the project at hand, or whether it be minor details.

Roofing labourer
(2015 July)
Was an onsite labourer helping a family friend and main duties undertaken were:
● Lifting and moving slates,tools, brick etc.
● Knocked up cerement along with taking rubbish down from scaffolding and keeping work area clear
● Made orders over the phone for additional materials/tools
● General assistance to otherroofers.
This job has helped me work with others in a tough,tiring environment but still work at a constant,steady pace
throughout,and has greatly helped my teamwork skills, as well as preparing me for future jobs.
Sainsbury's Worker
(2016 Christmas Temp)
Was a worker at Sainsbury’s Low Hall, Walthamstow, Chingford, for the continuity of the Christmas period,
working on the tills. Many duties taken were:
● Learning how to use,and eventually, correctly using,a till within the store.
● Helping many customers, getting better with my customer service skills, and providing help towards
many customers daily.
● Taking it upon myself to come in on time and do extra time over a festive period where the help is
needed.
This job has helped me learn how to act in a serious working environment, how to get along with colleagues and
what to do when assistance is needed,as well as learning how to talk with supervisors and when to get things
done on time, which coincides with me getting jobs done on a deadline.
Hobbies & Interests
Regularly play sports such as football and basketball. I am a member of my local gym and go regularly during
the week. Big gamer which gives me an interest in the media form and allows me to learn more about the
industry.

music course instead of the
English and Media I am
currently doing as it is a
passion of mine and I feel as
if I could do better there than
I would currently be doing at
my current school. This will

will also come in handy

taught me how to work well
in groups of people even if I
don’t wish to, and will help

created a music video within

2019-2020 Gap Year After this, I plan to take a
Gap Year from any other
work at the time. I will use
this Gap Year to decide
what I want to do in the
future, and whether I would
like to continue with what I
am currently doing or do
something different. This will
also give me time to
continue with my work shall I
decide to do so, and allow
me to create more content
for my portfolio of all of my
work within music, and let
my content be reviewed to
help decide if this is the path
for me. This will also give
me an opportunity to explore
different career paths, and
can also help me develop
key editing skills that I would
like to develop, such as
learning key editing skills
that will help me in the
future. These editing skills
may help me in the future
with either work experience
of with apprenticeships that I
may take in the future.
2020-2022 Work Experience and
Apprenticeships
After my gap year, I will be
taking up work experience
projects that could help me
with my current skills, such
as letting me know the
environment that editors and
such work in and what they
currently do, while after that,
taking up an apprenticeship
within a media platform such
as the BBC or ITV, and I
would preferably like to take
up the BBC due to their
course within production,
where they have a creative
course which starts off with
simple runner duties, which
can turn into editing roles
within the future. Taking up
one of these things will allow
me to see how things are
done within the industry, and
will allow me to understand
and enhance more of my
skills, such as preparing
myself for the industry and
allowing myself to learn
more about what I can do,
and how my skills can be
used in other ways. Due to
the fact I can also use my
other skills such as using a
camera and acting, it also
helps me know where I
could end up within the
industry, and what I would
be better off doing.
Inspirations
As someone who enjoys writing about numerous things, whether it be serious or light-
hearted, an inspirational writer of mine would be George Lucas who is well known for
creating the Star Wars films. His films are among one of the best film series ever created,
and films alone some of the best, too. He has inspired numerous amounts of people, and
has created a deep culture for film that many people find hard to do. His films have been
turned into short-series, television shows, and turned into the creation of mainstream comics
for many fans alike.
However, as an aspired editor, someone who has edited films to make me feel as if it would
be the path for me would have to be Michael Kahn, who has edited any memorable films for
me personally, such as Jurassic Park, the Indiana Jones films, and much more. The films
mentioned have created such an atmosphere within the films and created such heart-felt,
gut-wrenching, action packed moments that they stick with me, and have inspired me to
want to go into that industry greatly.

Stayed at King Solomon High School to finish my AS and A - levels, but have also moved colleges to continue working on even more courses.Seeking a part time position (which may turn permanent) during summertime and school hours to keep motivated and proactive. I have worked in numerous jobs in the past that have required the group to work togetheras intellectual individuals and do their job, which is why, no matter who I would be with, I would be happy to work well with any individuals. During my time in media, I have learned numerous skills that can help me within the media industry,such as camera techniques,how to use a camera and especially editing skills which I used throughout my group's work as the main editor. I thoroughly enjoy writing, and have a great interest in journalism, and I believe that helps carry over with my interest of media, as I tend to enjoy writing storyboards and screenplays forthe units I study, and helps me bring out my creative side, no matter what the story may be. I’m a very hardworking and open- minded individual, who when set a task, will put hard work into it no matter what, and my interest in editing and working within groups has allowed me to be very open to change,whether it be the change of the ideas within the project at hand, or whether it be minor details.   • 2. ● Lifting and moving slates,tools, brick etc. ● Knocked up cerement along with taking rubbish down from scaffolding and keeping work area clear ● Made orders over the phone for additional materials/tools ● General assistance to otherroofers. This job has helped me work with others in a tough,tiring environment but still work at a constant,steady pace throughout,and has greatly helped my teamwork skills, as well as preparing me for future jobs. Sainsbury's Worker (2016 Christmas Temp) Was a worker at Sainsbury’s Low Hall, Walthamstow, Chingford, for the continuity of the Christmas period, working on the tills. Many duties taken were: ● Learning how to use,and eventually, correctly using,a till within the store. ● Helping many customers, getting better with my customer service skills, and providing help towards many customers daily. ● Taking it upon myself to come in on time and do extra time over a festive period where the help is needed. This job has helped me learn how to act in a serious working environment, how to get along with colleagues and what to do when assistance is needed,as well as learning how to talk with supervisors and when to get things done on time, which coincides with me getting jobs done on a deadline. Hobbies & Interests Regularly play sports such as football and basketball. I am a member of my local gym and go regularly during the week. I am doing this due to the fact I wish to be doing a music course instead of the English and Media I am currently doing as it is a passion of mine and I feel as if I could do better there than I would currently be doing at my current school. This will give me the skills I need to be doing music full-time, and will enhance the skills I already own. My media skills will also come in handy during this period as it has taught me how to work well in groups of people even if I don’t wish to, and will help me connect to the project more than I would at first due to the fact I have created a music video within my course and know a lot about the business and industry. 2019-2020 Gap Year After this, I plan to take a Gap Year from any other work at the time. I will use this Gap Year to decide what I want to do in the future, and whether I would like to continue with what I am currently doing or do something different. This will also give me time to continue with my work shall I decide to do so, and allow me to create more content for my portfolio of all of my work within music, and let my content be reviewed to help decide if this is the path for me. This will also give me an opportunity to explore different career paths, and can also help me develop key editing skills that I would like to develop, such as learning key editing skills that will help me in the

These editing skills may help me in the future with either work experience of with apprenticeships that I may take in the future. 2020-2022 Work Experience and Apprenticeships After my gap year, I will be taking up work experience projects that could help me with my current skills, such as letting me know the environment that editors and such work in and what they currently do, while after that, taking up an apprenticeship within a media platform such as the BBC or ITV, and I would preferably like to take up the BBC due to their course within production, where they have a creative course which starts off with simple runner duties, which can turn into editing roles within the future. Taking up one of these things will allow me to see how things are done within the industry, and will allow me to understand and enhance more of my skills, such as preparing myself for the industry and allowing myself to learn more about what I can do, and how my skills can be used in other ways. Due to the fact I can also use my other skills such as using a camera and acting, it also helps me know where I could end up within the industry, and what I would be better off doing. Inspirations As someone who enjoys writing about numerous things, whether it be serious or light- hearted, an inspirational writer of mine would be George Lucas who is well known for creating the Star Wars films. His films are among one of the best film series ever created,
  • 5. and films alone some of the best, too. He has inspired numerous amounts of people, and has created a deep culture for film that many people find hard to do. His films have been turned into short-series, television shows, and turned into the creation of mainstream comics for many fans alike. However, as an aspired editor, someone who has edited films to make me feel as if it would be the path for me would have to be Michael Kahn, who has edited any memorable films for me personally, such as Jurassic Park, the Indiana Jones films, and much more. The films mentioned have created such an atmosphere within the films and created such heart-felt, gut-wrenching, action packed moments that they stick with me, and have inspired me to want to go into that industry greatly.
