Regional Quality Manager. Nestle Nutrition, Dubai – November 2011 to date.
In November 2011, I was given the opportunity to join the Nestle Nutrition business group, where I currently work with
the following responsibilities:
Regional Quality Manger for Africa, SSAR, Maghreb and ME region.
Ensuring highest food safety and quality of NN (Nestlé Nutrition) products is maintained, by providing direction,
assistance and training to units across the complete value chain (i.e. marketing, sales, factories, supply chain).
Driving quality improvements by supporting the implementation of NN quality policies, standards and best practices
in Nestlé factories and NN-managed co-manufacturers.
Providing product-specific support and training to NiM(Nestle in the Market), for implementation of the NNQS in
Nestlé factories and co-mans. Verifying the implementation of NN Quality policies, standards and instructions in all
factories and co-manufacturers.
Evaluating leading KPI information from factories regarding the defined objectives/projects and providing an analysis
to the Business Quality Manager. Advising and tracking KPI improvement actions, benchmarking, networking and
developing of synergies in quality management between factories.
Participating in BRQ of key markets and representing NN quality assurance within the region.
Providing technical support to NN business managers, medical delegates and sales force. Additionally, providing
technical support to NiM for incident management and NN manufacturing sites to carry out RCA and follow-ups.
Evaluating QA key personnel in factories and identifying candidates for Factory QA Manager roles.
Supply Chain Quality Assurance Manager. Nestle Middle East, Dubai. – May 2006 to November 2011:
In May 2006, I was promoted to SCQAM and transferred to the regional Head Office in Dubai from Jeddah, during this
role I had the following responsibilities:
Primary responsibility was to ensure the 13 regional countries stayed in full compliance to Nestle Quality System by
inoculating a strong quality culture in supply chain and distribution networks.
Handled trade, IMS & consumer complaints and monitored implementation of necessary corrective actions.
Conducted routine and unannounced audits of factories, 3rd party warehouses, co-manufacturers and warehouses
systems GWP for compliance verification.
Developed and trained regional supply chain and distribution staff to exceed Nestle Excellence philosophy by
creating a culture of brilliance at the basics.
Supervised upstream and downstream traceability exercises at factories and distributions centres.
Supervised all trial shipments for new products in coordination with application group, marketing and regulatory
affairs teams.
Facilitated brain storming sessions for product innovation and renovation.
Coordinate with CCQA(Corporate Centre for Quality Assurance) as part of crises management committee.
Played a crucial role to certify all Nestle factories to ISO 22000 certification in my region.

In 1998, I got the opportunity to work for Saudi Food Industries. Which was a Nestle joint venture partly owned by a
local partner in Saudi Arabia to manufacture cereals, Maggie bouillon, dehydrated soup, tomato ketchup and Maggie 2
min instant noodles. My responsibilities were as follows:
Implemented a quality management system to ensure all-raw and auxiliary materials used, and products leaving
the factory met the required quality criteria. Additionally, conducted periodic reviews to improve the system.
Built a QA system that functioned at the correct levels for sensory analysis and the QMS activities. Additionally,
developed training material for sensory analysis and members of the tasting panels.
Managed complaint handling at the factory level for environmental & pathogen monitoring and content control.
Coordinated and updated HACCP studies. Additionally supervised, proper implementation of quality systems in
reference to the requirement of NQS, Foreign bodies prevention, SASO, CODEX or customer requests.
Developed and implemented a hygiene training program for all factory staff, and also implemented a control program
at the factory by monitoring environmental and hygiene conditions. Spearheaded resolutions to quality and hygiene
problems whenever identified.
Regularly kept the senior management informed of all quality deviations, trends and corrective actions.
On a regular basis prepared and managed Factory QA Budgets. Also prepared non-quality costs, quality indicator
information and yearly quality complaint statistics.
Ensured correct functioning of factory lab equipment. Supervised ICP and calibration program of sensors and rapid
methods used in production and factory lab to provide sufficient confidence in the accuracy of the analytical results
obtained.
Quality Assurance Manager. National Biscuits Confectionary, Jeddah – 1997 to 1998.
In 1997, I got the opportunity to travel abroad to Saudi Arabia, undertaking the role of QAM for NBC Co & Ltd. My
responsibilities were as follows:
Reviewed the manufacturing process and quality control practices to improve quality and maintain consistency of
product quality.
Introduced new practices and procedures (such as ISO-9000 and HACCP) to guarantee product quality.
Reviewed product recipes to ensure they fully complied to practices and guidelines.
Ensured all material and product specifications were in compliance to national and international food safety industry
standards.
Successfully completed a training course for Internal Quality Auditors (ISO 9000).
Production Manager. Pepsi Cola Pakistan, Karachi – 1995 to 1997.
During my role as Production Manager, I was responsible for the following:
Production and quality control management of Pepsi, Miranda, Team, 7-Up, Diet Pepsi and Mountain dew in bottles
cans and pet family packs. Working in close coordination with experts of Pepsi Cola International.
Improved the original recipe of Slice Mango juice, a product of Pepsi Cola and developed the product with local
recipe.
Production Manager. General Dairies Ltd, Karachi – 1993 to 1995.
During my role as Production Manager, I was responsible for the following:
Ensured correct manufacturing and pasteurising practises and processes were followed for its long life milk, butter,
fresh cream and fruit Juices products range.
Coordinated production planning, process control & development of quality control procedures. Additionally,
implemented GMP procedures and development of hygiene conditions of working staff and manufacturing area.
Performed strategic coordination activities with Tetra-Pak and Alfa Laval experts to improve product packaging and
shelf life longevity.
Senior Executive Quality Assurance. SWE-Pak Pharmaceutical Company, Karachi – 1990 to 1992.
I was responsible for performing microbiological and chemical analyses of raw and packaging materials and to perform
sterility test and pyrogenic test on finished products.
Quality Control Officer. Fine Food Ind. Pvt Ltd, Karachi – 1983 to1989.
I was responsible for performing microbiological and chemical analyses of raw and packaging materials and finished
products. Conducted production line checks and releases.
