INTRODUCTION
It is commonly believed that learning is
enhanced through the use of technology and
that students need to develop technology skills
in order to be productive members of society.
For this reason, providing a high-quality
education includes the expectation that
teachers use educational technologies
effectively in their classroom and that they
teach their students to use technology.
WHAT IS
TECHNOLOGY
integration about?
Technology integration is the use of
technological resources (computers, software
applications, internet) in daily classroom
practices.
It is about creating instructional environments
that can facilitate active engagement, meet the
specific and varying needs of the students,
facilitate collaborative problem solving, providing
students with authentic learning environments.

1. Technology provides motivation for
students by:
Gaining learner attention.
Engaging the learner through production
work.
Increasing perceptions of control.

instructional capabilities, such as :
Linking learners to information and
educational resources.
Helping learners visualize problems
and solutions.

instructional approaches, such as:
Cooperative learning.
Shared intelligence.

 Step by step guided approach

 Step 1. Plan Your Lesson WITHOUT
the Technology Integration First.
 If you do not teach a specific subject
area, decide what type of lesson you
want to teach (i.e. math, social studies,
science, etc.).
 Once you know the subject area, start
developing your goals and objectives of
the lesson (without the technology
integration).
 Develop your entire lesson without the
technology integration first.

 Step 2: Know your Resources
 Do you have the proper equipment in
the school for your lesson (i.e.,
computer lab, individual computer in the
class, Ipad’s, Cell phones, Internet
Access, etc.)?

 Step 3: Research the technology
standards that correlate with your
lesson.
 Identify the technology skills needed by
students to complete the planned
activity in the lesson: You can write
these down on the side or write/type
them into your lesson.
 Once you know what specific
technology skills are needed, then it’s
time to research!

 Step 4: Write learning
objectives/performance objectives
that include technology.
 Use the technology standards you have
found and your initial learning objectives
to develop specific objectives that
include the technology integration.

 Step 5: Know how you will assess
the technology component of your
lesson.
 Will you use a rubric? Will you use
teacher observation? How will you know
if students understand both the
instructional content and the technology
you integrated?

 Step 6: Plan your lesson WITH the
technology integration
 Either add or rewrite your performance
objectives with the technology
integration – In your lesson plan, be
sure to add your assessment of both the
instructional content and the technology
component. – Be sure to include the
technology resources you use in your
lesson plan.
CONCLUSION
Teachers should find ways to use
technology so that it enhances instruction
and improves student learning.
The focus of technology integration
activities should not be on the
technology that is used, but on the
student activities that are
conducted using technology.

  • 3. INTRODUCTION It is commonly believed that learning is enhanced through the use of technology and that students need to develop technology skills in order to be productive members of society. For this reason, providing a high-quality education includes the expectation that teachers use educational technologies effectively in their classroom and that they teach their students to use technology.
  • 4. WHAT IS TECHNOLOGY integration about? Technology integration is the use of technological resources (computers, software applications, internet) in daily classroom practices. It is about creating instructional environments that can facilitate active engagement, meet the specific and varying needs of the students, facilitate collaborative problem solving, providing students with authentic learning environments.
  • 6. WHY IS TECHNOLOGY INTEGRATION IMPORTANT? 1. Technology provides motivation for students by: Gaining learner attention. Engaging the learner through production work. Increasing perceptions of control.
  • 7. WHY IS TECHNOLOGY INTEGRATION IMPORTANT? 2. Technology offers unique instructional capabilities, such as : Linking learners to information and educational resources. Helping learners visualize problems and solutions. Tracking learner progress. Linking learners to learning tools.
  • 8. WHY IS TECHNOLOGY INTEGRATION IMPORTANT? 3. Technology gives support for new instructional approaches, such as: Cooperative learning. Shared intelligence. Problem solving and higher level skills.
  • 9. WHY IS TECHNOLOGY INTEGRATION IMPORTANT?  4. Technology skills are required for an information age:  Technology literacy.  Information literacy.  Visual literacy.
  • 10. HOW CAN TECHNOLOGY BE INTEGRATED INTO CLASSROOM?  Step by step guided approach
  • 11. HOW CAN TECHNOLOGY BE INTEGRATED INTO CLASSROOM?  Step 1. Plan Your Lesson WITHOUT the Technology Integration First.  If you do not teach a specific subject area, decide what type of lesson you want to teach (i.e. math, social studies, science, etc.).  Once you know the subject area, start developing your goals and objectives of the lesson (without the technology integration).  Develop your entire lesson without the technology integration first.
  • 12. HOW CAN TECHNOLOGY BE INTEGRATED INTO CLASSROOM?  Step 2: Know your Resources  Do you have the proper equipment in the school for your lesson (i.e., computer lab, individual computer in the class, Ipad’s, Cell phones, Internet Access, etc.)?
  • 13. HOW CAN TECHNOLOGY BE INTEGRATED INTO CLASSROOM?  Step 3: Research the technology standards that correlate with your lesson.  Identify the technology skills needed by students to complete the planned activity in the lesson: You can write these down on the side or write/type them into your lesson.  Once you know what specific technology skills are needed, then it’s time to research!
  • 14. HOW CAN TECHNOLOGY BE INTEGRATED INTO CLASSROOM?  Step 4: Write learning objectives/performance objectives that include technology.  Use the technology standards you have found and your initial learning objectives to develop specific objectives that include the technology integration.
  • 15. HOW CAN TECHNOLOGY BE INTEGRATED INTO CLASSROOM?  Step 5: Know how you will assess the technology component of your lesson.  Will you use a rubric? Will you use teacher observation? How will you know if students understand both the instructional content and the technology you integrated?
  • 16. HOW CAN TECHNOLOGY BE INTEGRATED INTO CLASSROOM?  Step 6: Plan your lesson WITH the technology integration  Either add or rewrite your performance objectives with the technology integration – In your lesson plan, be sure to add your assessment of both the instructional content and the technology component. – Be sure to include the technology resources you use in your lesson plan.
  • 17. CONCLUSION Teachers should find ways to use technology so that it enhances instruction and improves student learning. The focus of technology integration activities should not be on the technology that is used, but on the student activities that are conducted using technology.
