2. ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
POWER
• Maintenance and repairs of all generators and diesel engines
• Servicing generators from 11 KW up to 50 KW.
• Perform the tasks of carrying out emergency repairs of generators
• Performed maintenance and repairs on diesel engines i.e. SDMO, Aqsa,
SMEE, Aramus, Elemax Kbota, Denyo. Allied CAT , Kipor , Perkins and
Mitsubishi
• Handle the responsibilities of carrying out scheduled routine maintenance
such as observing refuelling of generators as well as changing oil and
filters
• Providing lists of alternators, spare parts for diesel engines, control panels
and required tools and equipment
• Monitoring the tools, equipment and spare parts inventory
• ensuring the use of spare parts in most effective and productive manner
• Using test equipment & hand tools to diagnose, locate & fix electrical
problems. Checking & testing circuit breakers and replacing them where
required.
• Tracing, diagnosing and rectifying electrical faults.

BTS
• Responsible for the Operation & maintenance of transmission and BTS
equipment of several sites.
• Supervision of the GSM Sites 24x7, On Call visits to sites for alarm
clearance to ensure smooth operations & maintenance in the region.
• Preparing the Duty Rosters, Timesheets, PM Checklists and other monthly
reports and managing my team under my supervision.
• Performing Preventive Maintenance of all the Network Elements (BTS &
Microwave) at the Sites to prevent any instantaneous alarms on the GSM
Site to improve the QoS of GSM Operator.
• Maintenance & troubleshooting of Base Transceiver station (BTS-A9100).
• Checking & Corrective Maintenance of VSWR of GSM sites (Checking the
VSWR for the Feeder Cables and jumpers, VSWR Problem Resolution,
etc).

3. • Faulty equipment (Alcatel - TRE, SUMA, ANC, Duplexer) resolution and
replacement.
• BTS configuration, Conducting Expansions/Reductions as per the work
order from the operator and adding TRE’s to the equipped BTS.
• Worked over the Software Tools such as Alcatel BTS B12.
TRANSMISSION
• Commissioning, Troubleshooting & upgrading of the PDH Microwave
Links IDU/ODU’s
• Implementing the transmission connectivity of the GSM network by using
different transmission technologies as PDH, SDH.
• Optimizing the microwave network and keep its high quality by preventive
monitoring all the links and checking if their performance is according to
proposed/planned recommendation.
• Managed the indoor and out installation of microwave links.
• Installation, commissioning and alignment of DG Telecom PDH, SDH
and XPIC links
• Installation, commissioning and alignment of Huawei microwave RTN 900
PDH SDH links.
• Operation and maintenance of Huawei RTN 900.
• End to End MW media patching for commissioning(First call) of new sites
• Link Up gradation and Traffic shifting from old links to upgraded links
• Monitoring the Network through NMS
• Rerouting and rehoming activities and E1 expansions for increasing sites
capacity.
• Troubleshooting and Rectifying radio faults at Sites.
• Patching, testing and checking of Alarms in DDF Frames.
• Corrective Maintenance of Microwave PDH links to get the required values
of the RSLs for the Transmission (Fine Tuning).
• Looking after all the issues at the sites regarding MW transmission
Outages.
MANAGEMENT
• Follow up with Area Managers the status of verbal & written reports of
technical & non-technical site problems.
• Performing the Quality work and conducting the self-audits to improve the
quality of service.
• Receiving and Closing Trouble Tickets within given time.
• Generating Network Health reports on weekly, biweekly and monthly
basis.
• Co-ordination with Vendor/Operator for Fault Identification and
Rectification, Problem Synthesis and Reporting.
• Implementation of Work Orders

4. • Troubleshooting of alarm Occurrences and analysing the cause of the
alarm.
• Monitored spares / replacement of faulty Modules, Sub-System and
Cables etc.
