cable system is an ultra high capacity fiber optic submarine cable system which connects India & Europe via
Middle East.
Roles & Responsibilities
Installation & Commissioning
• Anchoring commissioning of networks and ensuring completion of project in minimum turnaround time
• Conducting tests & inspections to ensure operational effectiveness of utilities
Operations & Maintenance
• Executing the preventive maintenance of Telecom networks including schedules / shutdown maintenance
• Identifying areas of obstruction, conducting troubleshooting, service and repair to rectify the equipment,
provisioning of circuit having capacities STM-1, STM-4, STM-16 and STM-64(10G,1GBE,OTU2/2E).
• Resolved issues with business circuits within the KPIs.
• Developed NOC process documents and redefined whenever required.
• Addressed the complaints from the Transmission Centres, Cable Stations and various Service Providers.
• Handling trouble tickets (planned and unplanned) and following 15days prior notification of service affecting
activities.
• Oversaw fault & alarm management of DWDM & SDH links of Optical Networks from NMS using different
vendor equipments like Alcatel, Mitsubishi, Huawei.
• Identified the fibre breaks and cuts in case of cable fault, OTDR and COTDR tests.
• Suggested the proactive measures for traffic restoration, power reconfiguration & normalization activities in
coordination with Cable Stations and Cable Ships.
