Music video pitch
1. Pitching a media product
Blast Off by The Allergies ft. Andy Cooper music video pitch
2. After listening to the song, the first two examples that came to mind were:
• A summer vibe – the video
would be based around the
beach, parties,
summer, festivals, etc.
• Almost a 90s vibe –
colourful outfits, vibrant
grafiti, 90s aesthetics, etc.
3. The video would open during the day, with the sun shining. It would then
follow people going to the beach - the car going down the road with the palm
trees at the side following. Soon after, the video turns to a party showing
everyone enjoying themselves. As the time passes and the sky darkens,
everyone begins making their way towards a festival venue where the sky is
soon lit up by the bright lights from the stage where The Allergies and Andy
Cooper would be singing in time with the song.
4. The song last 3 minutes 39
seconds which is how long
the video will last – as soon
as the song begins so does
the video. I know some
artists have the video start
before the song but I think
since it’s already quite long,
why not just start the video
at the same time.
The cast would consist of a
bunch of extras ( even better if
they are fans of the allergies )
both male and female of any
age just enjoying themselves at
different locations. The only
celebrities involved would be
The Allergies with Andy Cooper
at the end of the video.
5. I want the video to just have an all around summery theme meaning bright, vibrant
colours. With the video itself along with the casts clothes, etc. being so colourful, it
results in the video and song connotating happy vibes which I feel the audience would
appreciate. When it comes to style, I picture it as modern while also being your average
festival-goers outfit. Here are some ideas:
6. How long would my video be in production for?
I don’t believe my video would be in production for very long, perhaps around a month.
The festival shot at the very end would be taken in one shot to show the unique
experience the audience witnessed. For the shots like the car, beach, party scenes etc.
I believe those could take a week or maybe more just to make sure they are perfect and
fit the time frame.
7. The main locations would be the beach
and the festival.
When it comes to the technical side, I
don’t want to include cgi, animations,
etc. I want it all to be real. As well as
this, I don’t want to use a large camera
crew with big expensive cameras as I
think the more home made it looks the
better, as it shows the authenticity of the
moment.
8. My audience profile would be
both male and female, aged from
around 18 to early 30s ( I feel
this is the main demographic for
festival goers ), already existing
fans of The Allergies or/and Andy
Cooper, as well as hip hop and
rap fans.
As for streaming platforms, the video
would be uploaded to YouTube when
released. When looking at the release
date, it seems a lot of festivals take
place in May and June ( since summer
has begun ) so I believe the video
should be released around the end of
July, giving plenty of time to edit it
together to make sure it’s perfect.
9. My main poster idea would be:
• The main focus would be a poster, stapled to the bark of a palm tree ( to fit the
summer vibe )
• On the poster would be an advertisement for the festival which happens in the video,
stating the names The Allergies and Andy Cooper in bold – connotating how they are
both the main focus of the video
• Behind the palm tree yet slightly out of focus, you will be able to see the beach.
• All while the sun shines down from the corner of the poster
10.
11. I believe my music video pitch is the best as it tells a story. The video follows people just
enjoying themselves and being happy, meaning when people watch it they will feel that
happiness. It shows people experiencing things which most, if not all, people will have
experienced or will experience at some point.
Thankyou for your time.
