2. Main Protagonist Girl – Character Profile
• Young girl, 15 years old, displayed at the start of the film in the park
with her boyfriend, giving the impression of your average high
school relationship
• However it is revealed at the trailer progresses that her brain is not
like other people’s, it is never disclosed exactly what is wrong with
her but is shown to evidently have a brain impairment that we
based off Alice in Wonderland, Capgrass and Cortard syndrome.
• Despite her impaired mind she still has occasional flashes of being
self aware during which she attempts to explain to her mum her
struggle but her mum stays in denial, refusing to admit anything is
out of the ordinary
3. Main Protagonist – Costume
• Ordinary teenage girl clothes, show her desire to fit in at the beginning
• Her clothes will get darker during the trailer to match the change in mood
4. Boyfriend – Character Profile
• He is displayed with her in the park at the beginning of the trailer,
depicting their teenage relationship as innocent and harmless
• Though this is the last time he is seen happy in the trailer
• As she becomes increasingly controlling he shrinks back into
himself, constantly scared to make a wrong move around her and
far too scared to make the decision to break up with her
6. Mum – Character Profile
• Mother of the main protagonist, mid 40s
• Hugely protective over her daughter
• A traditionalist who hates to accept change, she starts to notice
abnormalities in her daughters personality but she refuses to
acknowledge them
• When her daughter comes to her, evidently as a cry for help she
ignores it and instead of being supportive get angry and tell her not
to tell lies
• It is only right at the end of the trailer after reading her daughters
diary she left open on the table that she is forced to confront the
truth so blatantly in front of her, but it may me too late…
8. Father – Character Profile
• Father of the main protagonist late 40s / early 50s
• Left the girl’s mother years ago, it is hinted that the reason he left
was because of the young girl and him being unable to accept how
she was, however this has been hidden from her
• We see him return in the trailer and attempt to tell the mother what
she should do, while there is some sense in what he says in telling
the mum, that she needs to get help for the daughter she
understandably refuses to listen to him after he walked out on
them with out a word of apology
10. Aunt – Character Profile
• Older sister of the mother late 40s / early 50s
• Presented as the voice of reason in the family, but despite this she
is not listened to but instead exiled and shut out for speaking the
truth
• We will show one if these conversations where the Aunt attempts
to persuade the mum to seek help for her daughter, telling her it’s
in her and her child’s best interests but the mum simply remains
adamant that it doesn’t concern her and noting is wrong
