3. The Drug
Development
Life Cycle
Stage 5 Post market - monitors all drug and device safety once
products are available for use by the public.
Stage 4
Regulatory Reviews - review teams thoroughly
examine all of the submitted data related to the drug or
device and make a decision to approve or not to
approve it.
Stage 3 Clinical Research - Drugs are tested on people to make
sure they are safe and effective.
Stage 2 Preclinical Research - Drugs undergo laboratory and
animal testing to answer basic questions about safety.
Stage 1 Discovery and development – Research begins in the
labs.

Proclinical
• I was a resourcer and my role included
reaching out to life science
professional via linkedIN or by phone.
• Spoke with them about current job
opportunities' and upcoming roles.
• I also attended briefing calls with
pharmaceutical companies where we
spoke about current projects and what
roles they were looking to hire for.
• Responsible in organising interview,
follow up calls and delivering offers to
candidates
• Daily, weekly, quarterly targets set
6. What did I learn?
Gained vital life skills – what life outside university can look
like and what working a full time 9-5 job can involve.
What opportunities there were for me after university – what
different roles in the pharmaceutical industry were available.
