2. Characters
The characters are all teenagers, so therefore
logically the film represents young people of the
modern society. The characters are about the same
age, and are students at public schools. The main
social group that is represented is therefore
teenagers. There are however different
nationalities to the characters, which reflects the
multicultural majority of young people in Great
Britain
3. Social groups
O Nature is an easygoing, sympathetic protagonist,
and is representing a strong female personality,
something that is hinted through her last name
(Brown, reference to the thriller Jackie Brown).
O Anna is a fashionable, superficial teenager from
Norway with upper class parents, and therefore
represents the part of the society whom are
wealthy. She is also naïve and ignorant,
something that makes her an easy target for
Victor and Bill.
4. O Victor is representing the part of the society who are
not as privileged and wealthy. He is also a character
of two dimensions. His part as a criminal who’s
abducting a fellow student for the sake of money
makes him less sympathetic, at the same time as he is
a young man desperate for success and pride. His
situation makes him feel helpless, and therefore one
can categorize him as a sympathetic character
although he is not a heroic character. The character
challenges the idea that “good people are good, bad
people are just bad” and gives the film a three-
dimensional aspect as well as an interesting idea to
why people turn to crime.
