2. INTRODUCTION TO MY SONG
• The song I have chosen to use is Can’t Pretend by Tom Odell. This
song depicts a relationship gone wrong. Of which the Tom Odell
is confessing that he needs this girl back as he can’t go one
without her. As some of the lyrics say from the beginning of the
song “Love I have wounds, only you can mend, you can mend”.
This song was released in 2013 off the album a long way down.
Tom Odell is considered to be a Indie pop singer however some
place him in other categories such as rock

4. THE STORY
• The main plotline for my music video is the idea of a relationship
ending due to the girlfriend cheating and he wants to be with
her. Despite her cheating, he can not help but still love her and
he feels he needs her in his life and as the lyrics say he is willing
to fight but he can’t contend(in the case of my story the new
man). In the music video he is confessing his love to her but he
gets no love in return. Until the end where he falls and hits his
head and realises it is a dream.

5. WHY I CHOSE THIS SONG
• I felt that this song is relatable to a large audience as a lot of
people have been through heartbreak in a relationship or at least
know someone who has. This song emotionally connects with
everyone which I decided at a early stage in this process that It
was something I wanted to achieve

• Furthermore the song also aloud me to have different types of
narratives that I could achieve such as a normal break up and not
someone being unfaithful.

6. EXTRAS
• I still need to get my actors as I am still uncertain on who I would
want to play the roles
• I also need to get my locations sorted I have said I defiantly want
to use a park but am currently deciding where to choose Ley Hill
park in Northfield or West Heath park in West Heath
