2. Definition of Queer....
 A definition of Queer is something odd or
unusual,or is an offensive and derogatory
term used to describe a homosexual....
 Queer theory focuses on mismatches
between Sex, Gender and Desire...
 Queer is something that is, not normal or
abnormal, worthless, strange,feared,
questionable,odd, unconventional..

3. Queer means...
 Queer:- A broad level to define sexual and gender minorities
who do not prescribe to binary normative or heterosexuality.
 Homosexual :- An individual attracted to another individual
of the same sex..

4. What is an Queer Theory....
 An approach that chellanges dominant,social behaviour and sexual
identity based on heteronormative,binary opposites;
Gay/Staight,Male/Female, Masculine/Feminine...
 it is an interdisciplinary critical theory, that emerged in 1990 as a
response to feminist theory and Gay and Lesbian studies..
 It breaks from the binary heterosexual normative and explores the
fluid nature of sexual and gender identity...
 It was conceivable because the Gay rights movement in "Out-ed"
diverse sexual and gender identities...
 Queer theory is often used to designate the combined area of gay
and lesbian studies together with the theoretical and Cultural

5. Judith Butler...
 She suggested that gender is not the result of
nature, but it's socially constructed..
 She said,male and female behaviour and roles are
not the result of biology but are constructed and
reinforced through Media and Culture..
 Butler argues that there are a number of
exaggerated,discruptive "tounge-in-cheek"
representations of masculinity and
femininity,which draw attention to the ides that
gender is socially constructed and cause what
he/she refers to as 'gender trouble'...

6.  Her book "Gender
Trouble"(1990),
chellanged the
uniform idea that
feminism
viewed,a social
constructed,binar
y view of gender
and limited
options for
individual,sexual
and gender
identity.

7.  The American psychiatric association,in1973,and
the World Health Organisation,in 1992, officially
accepted it's normal variant status..
 Homosexuality is mostly a taboo subject in Indian
civil society and for the government section 377
of the Indian penal code makes, sex with a
persons of the same gender punishable by law..
 On, 2 February 2016, however the supreme court
agreed to reconsider it's judgement, starting it
would refer petitions to abolish section 377 to a
five member constitutional bench,which would
conduct a comprehensive hearing of the issue...

9.  Hinduism has taken various
positions, ranging from
homosexual characters and
themes in its texts to being
neutral or antagonistic
towards it.
 Rigveda, one of the four
canonical sacred texts of
Hinduism says Vikriti
Evam Prakriti
 (Sanskrit: विकृ त िः एिम ्
प्रकृ त िः, meaning what
seems unnatural is also
natural).
 which some scholars
believe recognises
homosexual/transsexual
dimensions of human life,
like all forms of universal
diversities.

11. Deepa Mehta's
"Fire"...[1996]
 The movie "Fire" which is considered to
be first ever Indian mainstream film
exploiting the subject of LESBIANISM..
 It is a beautifully painful story,acted by
Shabana Azmi and Nandita Das.
 It's went on to gain a lot of attention
despite its rather topic..
 We can see that,two women who have
similar issues with their frustration with
their respective heterosexual
relationships...
 Every same sex female relationship is a
result of failed relationship...

12. Margarita with a Straw....
 The most beautiful thing of this movie
is that it portras a tricky subject
without even once getting to sappy,
pitiful or melodramatic..
 Starring Kalki Koechlin as a lead, it's a
Sonali Bose's movie..
 It's not about just portraying sexuality
but it's about the bisexual of a
differently abled individual...
 This is the one of the few films that
promises to change our perspective on
sexuality as well as the differently
abled,and beautifully so...

Vijay Tendulkar wrote
"MITRACHI GOSTHA" [a
friend's story] also a
controversial play dealing
with LGBT Issues,a
relationship between two
friends SUMITA and NAMA..
 Dostana, it is a hindi
movie for friendship or it
is a romantic comedy
about two men,who
pretend to be gay to get a
place to live , throughout
the movie, there was a
definite chemistry
between them and they
come to rely on each
other...

14. Shakti-Astitva ke Ehesas ki...
 The story is about two
sisters, Soumya and
Surbhi. Soumya is
disliked by her father
and grandmother, but is
adored by her mother
Nimmi. Surbhi gets all
the attention from her
father. Soumya is a calm
and quiet girl, but
Surbhi is a fun-loving
and loquacious girl...
 In this serial Soumya is
Kinnary...

15. A most favourite movie...
"Pirates of Caribbean"...
 An example of the fluidity of
gender/sexuality can be seen
in the character of Captain
Jack Sparrow in the movie...
 In this film the main
character Jack uses an ironic
and 'over -the-top'
performance of a pirate.
 Includes wearing an over-
elaborate costume and eye
makeup,using feminine and
camp gestures and avoiding
anything that could be
interpreted as machismo...
